The scribe said to him, "Well said, teacher. You are right in saying,
'He is One and there is no other than he.'" And when Jesus saw that he
answered with understanding, he said to him, "You are not far

the Catholic faith. As we work together to
build a community dedicated to living the
Gospel, we commit ourselves to generous
stewardship and the responsible use of
our spiritual and material resources.

Thank You From Bingo Committee The St. Louis Bingo Committee would like to express our gratitude and
congratulations to all who helped make the October 21st Super Sunday Bingo a
huge success! We welcomed over 800 players, generating almost $78,000 for St.
Louis School. We are preparing for an even larger crowd on March 10th, 2019
and would appreciate all volunteers saving that date.
Vocation Awareness Week—November 4-10 As Catholics, we firmly believe that God has a plan
for our lives! He calls some to marriage, some to the
priesthood, others to religious life and some remain
as generous single people. Fully living our own
vocations—and teaching young people how to
discern God’s call—is a serious duty, but also a joyful
one.
Today begins National Vocation Awareness Week.
During this week, please pray about how God is
calling you to live your vocation more deeply. Encourage the young people in your
life—children, grandchildren, students, and friends—to be open if God calls them to
priesthood or consecrated life.
Families Helping Families Next weekend, November 10th & 11th, the gift tags will be in church to begin the
Families Helping Families program for 2018.
Each gift tag will represent the wishes of one child. There will also be envelopes
available if you would prefer to make a cash donation to be used for the program.
It is only through the generosity of your prayers, gifts and monetary donations that
we have been able to make sure that these children will have some Christmas
gifts. Thank you for your prayers and support. There will be more information in
the bulletin next week.
Need Prayer? Prayer needs are addressed in two ways at St. Louis. In the
vestibule of church is a Prayer Request Notebook where
anyone, at any time, can write prayer concerns. The Members
of the Prayer and Praise Ministry commit to praying daily for
these intentions. For more urgent prayer needs (illness,
surgery, etc.) there is a Prayer Chain that will get dozens of people praying
immediately. To begin the Prayer Chain, please call one of the following: Janice Werner, 932-9200 ; Erma Hartman, 934-3678; or Viola Fullenkamp, 934-3316
Ministry of Prayer and Praise Intentions for November That we be particularly aware of the poor souls in purgatory this month and seek
to aid them by our prayers and sacrifices so that they may soon enter heaven
and rest forever in the peace of the risen Christ.
That the faithful may develop a sincere devotion to the saints, learn about their
lives and strive to imitate their virtues and example.
That the virtue, integrity, and courage of the saints will take hold of the minds
and hearts of our newly elected officials, and all those who govern, so that they
may be attentive to God’s law and never seek to oppose it.
For all veterans, that the Lord may bless and reward those whose sacrifice has
preserved our nation in freedom.
For all those who have died, that the Lord will bring them to the joy of
eternal life.
For all of us, and for our fellow Americans, that Thanksgiving Day will be a time
for renewed gratitude to our Creator for His continual favors.

UCA Intention Weekend—November 10 & 11 Now more than ever,
the community needs
to see our strength
and goodness.
Through the grace of
the Spirit and the
generosity of His
people, we can feed
the hungry and clothe
the naked. We can
support our
seminarians and
retired clergy. We can
provide a Catholic
education to children
in need, and sustain
programs for the youth
and young adults we
serve. We can offer
new hope and healing,
all for the sake of
others. Together, we
are a mighty force,
showing others the
power of Christ’s love.

consider your pledge
