A FEW years ago it might have been easyto dismiss ‘‘Queensland style’’ as anoxymoron, but no more.

For our annual list of who’s got style inthe Sunshine State, we asked dozens ofQueensland’s tastemakers for ideas . . .and we were inundated with suggestions.

We then presented the nominees to apanel of Australian style commentatorswho decided on the final cut.

One thing became clear – style can besomething that runs in families andacross friendships. It’s something couplescan display, not only in the way theydress, but also in how they relate to each

other. So we decided to enter siblings andcouples as entries in this year’s 50 MostStylish.

We also expanded the list into a Top100, the remainder of which can be seenonline at thesundaymail.com.au, and wecreated a celebrity Top 10 list, made up offormer Queenslanders who are takingthe style message of the Sunshine State tothe world.

Exactly what is that message? JudgeDamien Woolnough described it as‘‘reflecting the vitality and confidence ofthe Queensland people’’.

Perfectly put.
