2018 Hire Me First Program Kick-Off
The 2018 Leadership Tracy class learned about public education at the Tracy Unified School District!
The Tracy Cham-ber of Commerce’s Hire Me First Pro-gram held their Kick-off Breakfast on October 18th. This Kick-off event celebrated the beginning of a new school year for the
program, which works with High School Juniors and Seniors to give them the skills that they need to enter the workforce. To prepare students the pro-gram offers job readiness training, internship/job shadowing opportunities, and mock interviews.
On this same day thirty nine students from across Tracy Unified School District par-ticipated in one day job shad-ows with employers in a field of their choosing. These job shadows provide students an opportunity to spend the day with a local business repre-sentative exploring the world of work. They also expose students to job opportunities within our city, allow students to participate in career exploration, and help to develop students soft transferable skills.
The Hire Me First Program
would like to thank the
following businesses and
organizations for allowing
students to job shadow
with them on this day!

Learn , New Smile Ortho-
dontics , VCA Old River,
Taylor Farms, McLane,
