November 2015 – Golf (and Tustin Ranch) has been Very, Very

Good to Me – the Benefits of Golf – Part 1

Each month I state how quickly time seems to be moving, and it

seems our world continues to push it to move even faster. Already

it’s November, and the past few weeks since early October we’ve

already seen the displays switch to Holiday and Christmas themes.

Sometimes I wish we’d take the time to slow down and enjoy each

moment; and have opportunity to enjoy all Tustin, Orange County,

and Southern California has to offer. Lord knows I’m guilty as

stated, and oftentimes fail to look at all the great things around me.

So with Thanksgiving upon us, I thought I’d report on what I’m

thankful for -- especially I am thankful for my family; for Tustin

    Ranch Golf Club and the Game of Golf and what they have to offer;

    for our great staff committed to service to our members and clients;

and for this great community and our loyal members and regular

golfers. It truly has been a blessing to be surrounded by so many

great things and people – and many of my experiences and suc-

cesses I owe to being involved in the game of golf.

With the above statements as a foundation, I hope to work on a

couple months of GM Messages in the newsletter regarding my

thoughts on the benefits of the game of golf, and golf courses to the

community. I’m sure most of our members and regulars at Tustin

Ranch have some similar stories about golf, and how their golf

experience has affected them. It’s something I’ve become

passionate about the past several years, and I hope our facilities

can give the opportunity to more people to have these similar

    experiences.

I’ve been very fortunate to be introduced to the game of golf, and

eventually the golf business and industry. I happen to have landed

in the golf business as a career. However, regardless of final

occupation or career, I believe those who have played golf, or

become attached to the game of golf in some form, normally have

become better citizens, better people, and have experienced the

characteristics of the game that will help them be more successful.

Somehow, those who’ve been hooked at some point on the game,

have experienced the values and characteristics of the game that

are inherent in life. For this reason, I hope all youth, and many

more adults in the future, will have opportunity to experience hitting

a golf ball and playing the game.

I know I was lucky to have had the opportunity, and it was a couple

friends that made the mistake of taking me to the local, small-town

golf course. Who could have ever dreamed where that golf

experience has taken me? Likewise, I am aware of multiple

individuals, currently in all occupations and walks of life, who

experienced that same small-town golf experience. For them too, it

seems in some way that similar golf experience, with the

surroundings and people involved, has influenced their life for the

better. Maybe it’s just me, and my optimistic view of the situation,

but I have seen it over many years – and at many different golf

courses – and the story and influence seems to be the same –

people who play and participate in the game of golf are good

    people.

I hope to hear from individuals on how they took up the game. I’ll

post how I was introduced on our Tustin Ranch Golf Club

Facebook page; and I hope many of you will respond with your

experiences. The golf course was a great, safe place to be while

learning the game, and we are on a mission to introduce more new

people in the coming year to golf, and all Tustin Ranch Golf Club

has to offer. Until next month ……to be continued.

In closing, we hope to see you out for our many weekly activities

throughout the month of November, and for sure our major events

including the Ladies Open the 17th, and the Turkey Shoot Out the

19th (crowning the Championship Cup series point Champion). We

hope to see everyone at Tustin Ranch Golf Club soon, Happy

Golfing, and have a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving!
