Inductees News and Reviews...
Upcoming NSCMHF Shows… NSCMHF First Edition Showcase CD will be available at all shows for $15.00
Things have been moving along at a good pace for me. I'm still performing at concerts and shows locally and beyond. On November 4, 2017 I released a new CD Music For Life, My Journey at the Osprey Arts Centre in Shelburne. This project took years to complete and covers a lot of ground. The 15 track recording was a combined effort be-tween 2 studios: Matt Swim of Clarks Harbour and Alex Buchanan at Harbour Tone Productions in Shelburne. The first song on the CD is the first one I ever sang in pub-lic as a toddler. The last song is the last one I wrote to date. The recording is a collection of traditional, spiritual, folk, and up beat country. The songs represent the many influences along my journey! I'm still doing what I love and loving
what I do, wherever and when-ever I can! Hope to meet you along the way as I continue my jour-ney!

Vintage 1930’s photo of Tex Cochrane at CFCY radio, Charlottetown, PEI. Hailing from Sweets Cor-ner, near Windsor NS, Tex Cochrane got his start in 1934 at CHNS Halifax. Western attire was popular with ‘cowboy’ singers as they were called before country came into vogue. Singers always dressed western for radio shows for live audiences or await-ing fans. Souvenir photos were often sold by the per-formers themselves, or used as giveaways by radio stations or sponsors. Tex recorded for RCA from 1937-39. In 1940, he joined the Canadian Army. Tex Cochrane retired with rank of Major in 1963. He lived in Fredricton NB until his death in 1995.
