The Outlook

Glenn’s Corner

As we come into our Thanksgiving and

Christmas season we always look forward to

time spent with family. When life hits us hard

with sickness or death the only thing that

really matters is our family and friends. Family

and especially our church family can be such a

blessing during theses tough times.

A chorus we use to sing when I was a

teenager at Poplar springs went like this: I’m so glad, I’m apart, of the family of God. I’ve been washed in the fountain, cleansed by his blood. Joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this sod. For I’m part of the family, the family of God. That song brings home a great truth we

often forget. Our church family means some-

thing. We are here to establish, build, grow and

mature our friendships and relationships within

the church. Sadly, many of us come to church

every week like robots and just put in our time,

never deepening the friendships within.

What I am trying to say is this, our friends

in the “Body of Christ’ need not be taken for

granted. They are our fellow soldiers, our

brothers and sisters in Christ, our rock we can

lean on in hard times.

Cherish this holiday season with your family

and friends. Make the most of the time we

have on this earth.

During this season my family and I want to

wish each and every one of you a Merry

Christmas. We cherish the friendships and

time we get to spend with you.

Luke’s Letter to the Flock

Wow is this year moving fast or what?

It is almost time for Thanksgiving and

then yes you know Christmas. I love

both of these so very much and I am very

excited when this time of the year comes

along. This reminds me of Nana’s pump-

kin pies and most of all spending time

with family. That is so very important

and for our teens that is a must today!

This world is very digital driven and lets

face it so is this generation. But as this

season of love, thanks, joy, and family

time comes along, please encourage our

teens and your teens to take some time to

really hang with the family. They will

cherish the time and thank you later!

CHILDREN’S Corner

It’s hard to believe it’s time to talk Christmas but it’s right around the corner! Our chil-

dren have been working very hard on a wonderful Christmas program to share with you. The pre-

school through kindergarten children’s choir will also share with us the message of Christmas

through music, word and hand bells. They always touch our heart and our funny bone! Our 1st though

5th grade choir will tackle the message of Christmas in a different way this year. For many people, it

is by faith alone that they believe Jesus was the Son of God and the Savior of the world. For oth-

ers, this belief doesn't come as easily--they need facts and proof to support this truth. This

Christmas, through music and drama the FCC children will share the evidence surrounding Jesus'

birth as it all actually happened as promised and prophesied in Scripture. In The Mystery of the

Manger, Jane Blonde, an investigative reporter for The Morning Star newspaper wants the

facts...just the facts! Her questions and searching make headline news on Christmas morning. As she

observes rehearsal for the Christmas Eve pageant, the children teach her through their songs that

"Like the Wise Men" we're all searching for the truth, and that the gospel accounts of Jesus' life

are "The Gospel Truth." In examining these facts from Scripture, she discovers the overwhelming

proof that the baby born 2,000 years ago in that manger IS the Savior of the world! Please

make sure you make time to attend the children’s program.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas season. May God bless you and

your families.

No experience is necessary!! This is a great time

to join and be apart of this ministry!

Harvest Fields, Inc. was organized locally in 1985 with the purpose of helping nationals serve their people in their own countries and help bring them to Christ. Pam Tillman went with a group of medical missionaries during the summer of 2012 to the Togo, Africa area. They assisted alongside the locals and

medical teams as they served with Harvest Fields.

Dear Church Family:

We thank you for our weekly service cd’s and bulletins from the

church. It means so much for us to be able to stay connected with our

church family and continue our worship of the Lord in our home since

we are unable to be there with you. Although we are not there in body,

please know that we are there in our hearts. We can’t tell you how

meaningful it is to us to be able to hear the same wonderful messages

that you do from Preacher Glenn. We love all of you and we miss you

so very much. Come to see us when you can and please continue to

keep us in your prayers. Love, in Christ, Frances & Hoover Brown
