On our way back, I was chatting with my colleague Prof. Yanhong Zhu and we both agreed that in terms of content and of organization, this workshop is the best we have attended. In fact, everything was so nicely arranged and coordinated, including last night's dinner. You must have worked very hard to ensure the success of the workshop. I just want to thank you again and wish you the best for the semester! Regards, Hongchu The CLTA -VA Fall grammar workshop on Saturday, October 13 was a great success. Approximately 80 participants attended the workshop at UVa, and each participant left UVa with smiles and satisfaction. This year has been a great year for CLTA-VA. In addition to the fall grammar workshop in UVa, we held an equally wonderful spring workshop on the beautiful campus of Woodberry Forest School on Saturday, April 16, 2012. Besides, we had six Chinese sessions and one workshop presented at FLAVA's annual conference on Oct. 5-6 in Williamsburg. Special thanks should be given to the Chinese language faculty and Confucius Institute at William & Mary College who helped to set up the CLTA-VA booth at the CLTA-VA/FLAVA conference. Dear Tseng Laoshi and JJ,

A Great Workshop on a Beautiful Campus ( By Scott Navitsky)

A Wonderful Experience ((((by Yao Yuqing )

The spring workshop at Woodberry Forest School was a great success. Over 50 participants visited our campus to hear Prof. Chengzhi Chu’s lecture on Chinese character acquisitions. Opening remarks were made by Dr. Dennis Campbell, Headmaster of Woodberry Forest, Prof. Miao-Fen Tseng, as well as Scott Navitsky. Many of the participants were very happy to have the opportunity to bring this conference to a secondary school to represent our members

The CLTA-VA-FLAVA conference was a wonderful opportunity to get new ideas and meet with old and new friends. I attended the workshop that discussed about using TL in classroom teaching presented by Mr. Yu Peng. He did a wonderful job and I learnt a lot. I also learned how to use blog with students in

class. As a presenter, I shared how to use Clicker to assess students' learning. Of course, I made a couple new friends who had just started their teaching careers. It was fun dinning with them.
