Meet Jersey Rae Widmer, My NIECE!!!Normally a text at 3:30am isn’t going to be a good thing, except when its your

brother telling you that he and his wife have arrived at the hospital to deliver a

little princess! Jersey Rae Widmer, 6lbs 11oz, was born on Nov 28th and was the

icing on the cake of a blessed Thanksgiving holiday. I was able to skype with

John, Brooke, Jersey and the fam on Sunday night…its not quite the same being

on a computer screen, but I felt like I could sense the excitement and am

thankful for technology. Isn’t she precious!?!

A PRAISE REPORT

The birth of Jersey Rae Widmer on Nov 28 th

weighing 6 lbs and 11 oz…. I am an Uncle!

Sweet and edifying fellowship and discussion withour ACWR evaluation team. We covered a lot of

ground and have a stronger sense of where God is

leading us in future ministry, yet we still see

through the glass, darkly.

A blessed Thanksgiving, I truly have SO much to

be thankful and great hope for the future.

Hurricane Tomas faded and dodged us, making

much ado for nothing as it barely rained.

Safe travels for the Huber family.Proud Mom and Dad  Widmer with sweet baby Jersey Rae and a glowing Aunt Katie!

Acts 1:7 - 8

It is not for you to know the

times or the seasons, which the

Father hath put in his own

power. But ye shall receive

power, after that the Holy

Ghost is come upon you: and

ye shall be witnesses unto me

both in Jerusalem and unto the

uttermost part of the earth.

Thanksgiving is not a holiday celebrated in Jamaica, so this year we held off on our

“big family dinner” until Saturday when we all weren’t so busy. Turkey is also super

expensive and hard to find, so we celebrated with ham instead, which is still a

delicious treat. Kirk and Keri Plattner hosted our ACWR team at their place.Unfortunately Chad and Pam Huber (and family) were already back in the states, but

we had other things to be thank ful for, in particular, a new team member! Tashi Bent

was announced in Leo church in mid-November expressing her desire to join the AC

church. It was a blessing to all get together (minus Hubers, of course) to share in the

joy.

A little background on Tashi. She attended Taylor University in Ft Wayne, IN from

fall 2005 until she graduated in the spring of ’09. During that time she lived with the

Steve and Linda Schrenk family and attended the Leo AC church. Recently she shared

with our team that she had an interest and a desire to join the AC church during her

last two years of college, but k nowing she’d be returning to Jamaica where there

aren’t any churches, it didn’t make sense. But, in the last few months we’ve had a lot

more opportunities to have her join us and she also began leading a Bible study along

with ACWR teammate Erin Davis for single women in New Life Church of the Deaf.

This same Saturday we also had the added excitement of a National Deaf Sports Day

hosted here in Mandeville at Manchester High. Kirk and I got recruited last minute to

ref the basketball games…it was interesting, I’ll just leave it at that!

Work Team Coordinator

Other Ministry Activities in Jamaica:On Nov 18th we received, unloaded and distributed the fourth and final

ACWR sea container for 2010. The process never seems to work the same

way twice, but everything always works out and at the end of the day, people

and ministries who need physical aid receive some of the essentials. We are

currently evaluating and praying for wisdom as we desire to be good stewards

of the resources we have on a tighter budget.

Nov 21st I was able to go back to Sav-la-mar for another Sunday worship

service. This time the whole McKenzie family went with me; Sheldon,

Simone and their daughter Ashley. They did a great job coming up with

drama’s to show how miscommunication leads to hurt relationships. This was

paralleled to how when we misunderstand God, and His Word, our

relationship with him is hurt because we aren’t communicating properly.

Beautiful sunset captured on south coast near Whitehouse on the whome from delivering the sea container in Montego Bay. Great pic

Erin!
