Last Thursday, November 02, 2017 we gathered at 12:15 p.m.
as ordered. However as the numerous photographers were
gathered, members con*nued to appear a+er the designated
*me. Finally at around 12:40 p.m. we did our final take. The
regular mee*ng therefore started around 12:45 p.m.
Being a Business Mee*ng, the Club was brought up to date by
the Officers and Directors of the Club.

highligh*ng the night’s event as well as further publicity.

Focus aFen*on on the need for greater integrity in corpo-
rate and public life in Barbados. Possible dates, November
19 or 26
COMMUNITY SERVICE
• The RI tree-plan*ng project is s*ll underway. 20 trees
are to be collected from NCC this week. Permissions for
the loca*ons at The St. Michael School, Codrington
School and UWI are s*ll to be confirmed through and
with Dir. Makonem.
• The Fire Safety and CPR training will commence this
month. The names of the nursery schools were given to
Rtn Clifford, who will liaise with the Fire Service to con-
duct fire and safety training and inspec*ons. Mr. Ryan
Selby of the Heart and Stroke Founda*on will conduct
the CPR training. A mee*ng is scheduled for the 31st
of
October to finalize dates, *mes and loca*on.
• The leFers for the Drug Awareness Program were done
through PP Norman’s Personal Assistant and sent out.
That is to be followed up on.
• A decision on the loca*on of the Senior Ci*zens Christ-
mas Party is s*ll pending. Pres. Paul and PE Shawn are
facilita*ng the process.

2018-19. in keeping with our Theme—Ethics & Corpo-
rate Governance we welcome our Guest Speaker Dr.
Philmore Alleyne – Lecturer at the University of the
West Indies, who will present on "Whistleblowing"

Rotary Cardiac Sport Program
With board approval the commiFee requested that the
club purchase the first Heartsine AED machine for dona-
*on to the BFA sports complex, from Regal Development
Solu*ons (RDS); the cost will be $5,000.
We have invited RDS to present their product on the
23rd of November.
At the same mee*ng we would like to present the AED
to the President of the BFA, Mr. Randy Harris.
We will be sending 3 members of the BFA to take part in
CPR/AED classes to ensure they are well versed and cer-
*fied to use the AED machine, on Dec 10th.
We are con*nuing to work with Peter Harris who has to
confirm his dona*on to fund the purchase of machines.
Interna3onal Conven3on
We will con*nue to advise members of the Interna*onal
Conven*on in Toronto 23-27 June 2018.
District 7030 Conference
We will con*nue to advise members of the District Con-
ference in Suriname 25-28 April 2018.
YOUTH SERVICE • Rotaract Club of UWI Cave Hill. The club will be tak-
ing part in a Walk Against Gun Violence in collabora-
*on with UWI STAT on the 11th of November within
the Rotaract week on campus. The club has asked for
a $250.00 sponsorship from our club to cover the
cost of the RBPF officers and a small prize for the
largest group at the march.
• Rotaract Club of Barbados. President Shelly and VP
Mario will be heading off to Grenada for the DLT on
the 24th of November and returning on the 27th.
• Interact Clubs of the St. Michael and Codrington
schools. The clubs are planning a city clean up where
they will choose a por*on of Bridgetown and remove
as much garbage as possible. They are also planning
a Christmas gi+ drive where the gi+s collected will
be donated to the Variety Club.
• Upcoming Events. The planning for the Annual Youth
Forum is going well. We have secured the BL&P
Training Room. The topics have been solidified and
the majority of the facilitators confirmed. Reports con�nue next page

The date is the 18th of November from 9am to 2pm.
I am asking Rotarians to donate Ice, so+ drinks and juices for
the forum. All who will be dona�ng can let me know.
I am also asking Rotarians to aFend as this forum is not one
to be missed.
Tree plan3ng in conjunc*on with Director Malcolm is s*ll on-
going. We are yet to have confirmed dates for the plan*ng at
SMS, Codrington and UWI. When I receive an update I will
provide it to the board.
The roster detailing the mee*ng dates, *mes and loca*ons of
the Interact clubs for this term has been completed and the
Rotarians rostered have been emailed a copy of the roster
with their *mes and dates.
