1. Common nouns

Common nouns are the names of general objects

car I have a car.

dog The dog barks.

ball Peter kicks the ball.

hill We climb the hill.

milk They drink their milk.

Continuous tense Active voice: The girl is eating an apple. Passive voice: An apple is being eaten by the girl. Look at the following examples:

Active Passive Present continuous tense: Mom is buying books. Books are being bought by Mom.

Dad is driving his car. His car is being driven by Dad.

We are kicking the ball. The ball is being kicked by us.

Past continuous tense:

Sally was writing letters. Letters were being written by Sally.

The men were drinking coffee. Coffee was being drunk by the men.

Some girls were doing ballet. Ballet was being done by some girls.

Future continuous tense

I shall be riding my bike. My bike will be ridden by me.

They will be fixing the car. The car will be fixed by them.

Tom will be helping us. We shall be helped by Tom.

Remember the subject and

the object change places!

Perfect tense shows that the action has been completed

Perfect tense can be divided into:
