Dear Friends, When one member of a family succeeds, the entire household rejoices. It is my pleasure to share with you that not just one member of our family has succeeded, but over 390 families in returning their Budget Offering Commitment Sheets! Not only have 390 returned their sheets; but 73 have indicated they will raise their contributions to the parish for 2021. These commitment sheets greatly help us with financial planning and budgeting our resources to better serve the Lord and our community. We are Eucharistic people, and the Eucharist is a Greek word that means “Thanksgiving.” Once again, your time, talents and treasures, in whatever form they take, are extremely valuable and make being a part of this parish an honor and a joy. Using Your IRA to Contribute to Our Faith STO, your Parish or Catholic School If you are 70 1/2 or older , in most years you are required to take a minimum distribution from your IRA, whether you need the income or not. This year, you aren’t required to take a required minimum distri-bution, but may still take one for charitable giving purposes, if you wish. If you are in this situation, you can gift that IRA distribution to the Our Faith STO and receive a 65% Iowa tax credit in return. It’s a win-win for everyone. This IRA distri-bution must be given directly to the STO to avoid federal income taxes. You may also give to your parish or Catholic school through your IRA too! Rosary Program - Our Lady (Notre Dame) is asking each of us to pray the rosary every day. The rosary is so powerful, and carries with it so many graces. Continue to tally the number of rosaries prayed on any piece of paper and drop the results in the collection basket as part of your offering.
