Dear Parishioner, The most faithful way to approach God's mystery is to come closer to the history of the revelation expressed in the word of God and the events brought about by Jesus Christ event. This is what shapes our faith as Christians and enables us to have at least some inference into Trinitarian life. If we have faith in what has been revealed by God, we are not in complete darkness: the life of the Trinity is not a fully sealed off mystery regardless of the fact that it remains somewhat obscure. On the other hand, to approach Trinity as it is, we have to believe in what Jesus announces to us in the measurement of our faith in which salvation penetrates our history. This is why confessing God in three persons is the mainstream of our faith. It is important to emphasize the doctrine of the Trinity not in an individual form, rather in the triune aspect that expresses the Father, Son and the Spirit in order to support their communion.

The theme of the mystery of the Incarnation remains at first an important fact in the Trinitarian as-pect of God. The Annunciation (Luke 1: 26-38), describes how God the Father sent the angel Gabri-el to Mary, to announce to her that God, the Holy Spirit, would "overshadow" her, and that God, the Son, would be made flesh in her womb. During the baptism of Jesus (Matthew 3:16-17), the Holy Spirit was shown descending on Jesus in the form of a Dove, while the Voice of God the Father was heard from the clouds. John (Chapters 15 through 18) presents the detailed teaching of Jesus on the Persons of the Holy Trinity. In the preaching mission given by the risen Lord to the disciples, Jesus commanded them to baptize people “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spir-it. However, it is easy to forget the reality of Jesus emptying himself as the Son of God, which is to say Jesus lowered himself to unite with humanity. If we do not take time to understand better the Trinitarian aspect of God we will continue being simply baptized Christians who do not understand their roots as Christians and the meaning of the Triune God.

As Christians, how do we speak about “One God” and “Triune God”? In fact, it comes to a point where we need to approach not the “One God” but the God of faith, understood as Father the Crea-tor, Jesus Christ the Son our redeemer, and Holy Spirit our Sanctifier. We need to begin to see our life of faith from a Trinitarian perspective and understand the meaning of the revelation as fully re-vealed in the New Testament and in the beliefs professed by the Church. God, who has come to us in the flesh, in the person of Jesus, is one in the Father and the Spirit in the temporal and eternal reality without change or division. We must understand in a direct way the experience of the Trini-tarian aspect of God since it constitutes a new element which distinguishes Christianity from other religions. We must understand in a direct way the experience of the Trinitarian aspect of God since it constitutes a new element which distinguishes Christianity from other religions. Undoubtedly, Christianity has offered to the world a vision of God who became man and then sent his Holy Spirit among the people so that they might live fully in Him. What has been claimed regarding the doc-trine of the Trinity cannot be overlooked, but new ways can also help us find new vistas by which we come in contact with God and therefore grow in relationship with Him.

My brothers and sisters we need to see the Trinity as the model for our Christian families: We are created in love -- to be a community of loving persons, just as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are united in love. Since the day we were baptized, we have belonged to the Father, Son and Holy Spir-it. How privileged we are to grow up in such a beautiful family! Let us turn to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in prayer every day. We belong to the family of the triune God. The love, unity and joy in the relationship among the Father, Son and Holy Spirit should be the supreme model of our rela-tionships within our Christian families. Our families become truly Christian when we live in a rela-tionship of love with God and with others. May God bless you and Happy Trinity Sunday. Fr. Yvans Jazon

Stewardship

The Holy Spirit Guides Stewards “But when he comes, the spirit of truth, he will guide you to all

truth…” John 16:13A Jesus sent the Holy Spirt to help know and live the truth. To prepare ourselves, we need to open our hears to receive this gift before we ca give it. In Stewardship, develop a daily pray-er routine to ask the Holy Spirit to help guide your thoughts and actions.

Dear Parishioners, As we move forward in the “Year of Mercy”, I ask you to consider the words of Jesus, “When I was thirsty you gave me to drink”. Can you answer “yes” to this question? Can you see Jesus in those you encounter daily? Can you see Jesus in those who are less fortunate? In our everyday lives we take clean water and so many other needs for granted, needs that our brothers and sisters in this country and in other countries throughout the world can only “dream” about. In many countries the local river water is used to bathe, to wash, and as drinking water. The luxury of having running water does not even enter into the picture. Yet… . WATER is such a basic need. About two-thirds of the human body is made up of water. Our bodies that have been so wonderfully designed by God are able to go without food for a longer period of time than they can without water. Water is a need we all have and we all possess. The need of the poor is no different than the need of the not so poor. In the summer of 2016 farm workers on South Jersey farms in the Camden Diocese will work the land and harvest the crops. The Diocese has a farm ministry that reaches out to the migrant workers to provide them with basic needs. One need that the farm workers have is for bottled water when working in the fields in the hot sun. As our June act of Mercy can we help to alle-viate this need? Can we offer them a drink of water? On Sundays, June 5 and June 12 please consider help-ing our farm workers with bottled water. You can bring in a 6, 12 or 24 pkg. of bottled water to mass with you. *At Assumption Church please bring the water to Kelly Hall before the start of Mass. At St. Ann Church please bring the water to the front steps of the church. If you would prefer to make a monetary donation please write a check to NDDLM Parish and put the word WATER in the memo area. There will be envelopes in the rear of church for these checks. Thank for your generosity and your help, The Mercy Team

YEAR OF MERCY

Misericordiae Vultus On this Trinity Sunday may we beg our One God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit to open our hearts to all the graces, mercies, blessings and indulgences of this extraordinary Holy Year of Mercy as we continue to reflect seriously, engage prayerfully and act boldly on Pope Francis’ letter which chal-lenges us to be “Merciful like the Father”. (MV14) ........Pope Francis continues with the offer-ings of indulgences.......... “A Jubilee entails the granting of indulgenc-es. This practice will acquire an even more important meaning in the Holy Year of Mercy. God’s for-giveness knows no bounds. In the death and resurrec-tion of Jesus Christ, God makes even more evident his love and its power to destroy all human sin. Reconcili-ation with God is made possible through the paschal mystery and the mediation of the Church. Thus God is always ready to forgive, and he never tires of forgiv-ing in ways that are continually new and surprising. Nevertheless, all of us know well the experience of sin. We know that we are called to perfection (cf. Mt 5:48), yet we feel the heavy burden of sin. Though we feel the transforming power of grace, we also feel the effects of sin typical of our fallen state. Despite being forgiven, the conflicting consequences of our sins remain. In the Sacrament of Reconciliation, God for-gives our sins, which he truly blots out; and yet sin leaves a negative effect on the way we think and act. But the mercy of God is stronger even than this. It becomes indulgence on the part of the Father, who through the Bride of Christ, his Church, reaches the pardoned sinner and frees him from every residue left by the consequences of sin, enabling him to act with charity, to grow in love rather than to fall back into sin. The Church lives within the communion of saints. In the Eucharist, this communion, which is a gift from God, becomes a spiritual union binding us to the saints and blessed ones whose number is beyond counting (cf. Rev 7:4). Their holiness comes to the aid of our weakness in a way that enables the Church, with her maternal prayers and her way of life, to forti-fy the weakness of some with the strength of others. Hence, to live the indulgence of the Holy Year means to approach the Father’s mercy with the certainty that his forgiveness extends to the entire life of the believ-er. To gain an indulgence is to experience the holiness of the Church, who bestows upon all the fruits of Christ’s redemption, so that God’s love and for-giveness may extend everywhere. Let us live this Jubi-lee intensely, begging the Father to forgive our sins and to bathe us in his merciful ‘indulgence.’” (MV22)
