1. Introduction Notification is widely used mechanism which can be used for notifying some events which require some follow up actions. Further examples of the notification usage are:

- Notifying abnormal stage of the asset - Notifying work request - Notifying data validation - Notifying Condition of the asset - Notifying deviation from the maintenance - Notifying additional executed work - Triggering automatic Creating follow up action - Triggering updating of the plan - Notifying lack of documentation (drawings) - Sending and logging e-mails assigned to specific topic - Sending and logging internal messages assigned to specific topic - Assigning actions, repairs, malfunctions, planed actions, location changes or discards for

specific event (notification)

• Description: o Usually name of the notification. This is used later to recognized what is notification

related on.

• Responsibility: o Area, User, Group, Entity responsible for notification creation o Created by is automatic entry of the IPS user (log on )

• Importance: o Importance of the notification

• Type o Type of the notification is entry which can be used for wide cases of later processing of

the notifications E.G: Condition assessment ERP System data inconsistency As build drawings …

o NOTE: There can be exist some IPS system Specific types which cannot be edit by user.

o Notification can be assigned to group of user or to individual user by selection within IPS user groups and users

• History: is presenting history of all assignments • Text Message

o Text message from e-mail or internal message • Source event

o Source event where notification was created: Maintenance/Commissioning task Maintenance/commissioning action

o Source event may be empty (case of general notification) • Source Object

o Object which is owner of the notification • Status:

3. Preconditions for using e-mailing functionality NOTE: Below settings can be done with specific user rights only. Following setting must be done in order to use e-mailing functionality of the IPS-ENERGY™. E-mail server list must exist where minimal one e-mail server is applied as default


IPS-SYSTEMS™ IPS-ENERGY™ support as well managing of several e-mail server. Different users can be assigned to different e-mail server.

1. Each user must be defined within IPS Administration module with e-mail address and proper e-mail server must be assigned.

4. Creation of the notification

1.1 Manual creation of the notifications Notification can be created from various places within IPS-ENERGY™ System by using context menu. Notification can have Source event and source object. Source object for notification is particular asset object and source events can be:

• maintenance/commissioning task • maintenance/commissioning action

Creation of the notification is made by context menu on above source event. Source object is automatically asset object assigned to source event (E.G. object under maintenance)

After opening notification list view use context command in order to create new notification.

Notification can be created without source object and source event using context menu new… within notification list. In this case this may be general notification not connected to some object or source event.

In this case source event will be empty.

1.2 Automatic creation of the notification

1.2.1 Automatic creation of the notification on negative task assessment In order to set up automatic creation of the notification based on negative task assessment following steps must be done:

o Respond action (notification) must be defined within maintenance concept o Select task which will be source event o Select condition

o o Select schedule type

o o Add name of the notification o Add class of the notification o Add person (group) which will be assigned for notification o Add eventual if some planed action will be generated as follow up action o Add what will be created as follow up action

1.2.2 Automatic creation of the notification on result out of tolerance This is related for enter value against nominal task type. Basically the same mechanism will be used for creation of the automatic notification and automatic follow up action. Different is that enter value against nominal can have automatic assessment based on tolerances. Further generation of the notification and respond action is just based on assessment.

The max tolerance will be taken into consideration. Result will be compared with referenced value within specified tolerance.

5. Example how to use notification mechanism Following example will present case of CB maintenance where System should trigger CB routine test IF switching operation counter will be higher than specified. In this case following CB maintenance must be planed.

1.3 Preconditions o Action templates for CB inspection (visual control) and CB maintenance are defined see figure

blow

o Task defined with switching counter control o Tolerance defined (Absolute)

o Respond notification based on task evaluation is defined o Creation of the respond action based on above notification is defined

Automatic procedure will generate notification with title “ CB switching operation counter over limit for maintenance”. This will be notification type condition assessment. Automatic assignment to the user Nikola Tesla including e-mail notification is done. Further automatic CB maintenance action will be generated as automatic follow up action from generated notification.

1.4 Execution Execute action as usual by executing tasks:

Automatic notification and automatic follow up action are generated

As can be seen there are created notifications with creation type action response. Meaning this are notification created as respond of the task result which is defined within maintenance and commissioning templates.
