The Town has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) to consider solutions to traffic demands that are within the lifecycle of planned rehabilitation work for the area. Alternative solutions considered included: 1) Do nothing, 2) Widen the existing road to provide left turn lanes, 3) Widen the existing road to provide additional through lanes, 4) Provide improvements to facilitate alternative transportation, or some combination of alternatives. The study evaluated alternatives with consideration for the natural, cultural, technical and economic environment.  Public Information Centre The public is invited to attend a Public Information Centre (PIC) to review study materials. The PIC is planned for Wednesday, September 11TH, 2013 at COLLINGWOOD MUNICIPAL OFFICES & LIBRARY COMMUNITY ROOMS B (SOUTH) AND C (NORTH) THIRD FLOOR FROM 4:00 PM TO 7:00 PM. The purpose of the information centre is to (a) provide a summary of the feedback received as a result of the May 8, 2013 information centre, (b) identify a preferred alternative solution for the transportation improvements, (c) present the alternative design solutions for transportation improvements. The study is being planned as a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment under Schedule ‘C’ Municipal Road Project as described in the Municipal Engineers Association (“MEA”) Guide for Municipal Class EAs (2000, as amended in 2007 & 2011). The Town intends to proceed with the planned rehabilitation work. Solutions to traffic demands, as determined through the EA process, will be implemented depending on annual capital budget scheduling and the receipt of any necessary approvals. The Town of Collingwood is seeking submissions of professional artwork suitable for temporary display in the lobby of the new Central Park Arena from October 2013 to March 31, 2014. The Central Park Arena is currently being constructed and is scheduled to be open to the public in October 2013. Submissions for this exhibition are best suited to large-scale works that are completed or in progress and slated to be complete prior to the installation date. The selected artist will receive an exhibition fee.Selection ProcessSubmissions will be reviewed based on suitability for the location, aesthetic appeal, durability and quality.
