In 2008 Mexican Feather grass was sold through several nurseries in Victoria into the Riverina. Mexican feather grass is classified as Prohibited Matter under the Biosecurity Act 2017. Suspect plants should be immediately reported to Councils weeds inspector for identification. WATER USAGE ACCOUNTS Leeton Shire Council advises all ratepayers that the first Water Usage account for the 2018/2019 financial year is due Wednesday 17 October 2018. Failure to pay the Water Usage account by the due date renders it overdue and subject to the addition of interest charges of 7.5 percent per annum, calculated daily. Payment may be made on the Internet (www.leeton.nsw.gov.au) by credit card by clicking on the option to pay online. B-Pay is also available (Biller Code No. 303321). Payment can also be made at any Australia Post agency or Commonwealth Bank branch by presenting your intact notice. To pay by telephone with MasterCard or Visa, telephone 1300 276 468 anytime. Please note that if payments are made by post, ensure sufficient time is allowed for the payment to reach Council on or before the due date. CHANGE IN LANDFILL OPENING HOURS The Landfill hours will be changing from Sunday 7 October 2018 due to Daylight Savings. The operating hours at Leeton Landfill will be 9.00am – 5.40pm. DOGS IN T HE POUND To view impounde d dogs go to:- http://www.leeton.nsw.gov.au/animals-in- the-pound.aspx S356 LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1993 PROPOSED SALE OF COUNCIL PROPERTY In accordance with the provisions of Section 356 of the Local Government Act 1993, public notice is hereby given of a Council resolution passed at the Council extra-ordinary meeting held on Wednesday 25 July 2018 that intends to provide financial assistance as listed hereunder: That Council resolved to accept an offer from Mr Mick Boots to purchase Lot 40, DP 1053574, 32 Massey Avenue, Leeton at a price of $159,750 excluding GST and that Council give public notice for 28 days of this resolution commencing 6 October 2018. Written submissions address to the General Manager, relating to the above proposal will be received up to 4pm on Friday 2 November 2018.
