This booklet contains details of all road closures and parking restrictions

across the Edinburgh Marathon Festival weekend which takes place on 25th &

26th May 2019.Please read this information carefully.

Hundreds of runners will be taking part

raising money for many local and national

charities. Please come out and support

them as they complete their race.

To the residents and businesses of Edinburgh & East Lothian,

Please find enclosed in this booklet details of all road closures and parking restrictions in your area on Friday 24th, Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th May 2019.

The event organisers in association with City of Edinburgh Council and East Lothian Council have striven to minimise the disruptive impact of the event to allow those directly affected to carry on with their daily routine with as little inconvenience as possible.

Please take note of the information provided and do not park within these areas during the times stated. Every effort will be made to keep traffic flowing as freely and smoothly as possible.

Please note Emergency Service vehicles will not be affected by any of the restrictions.

Residents of Meadow Lane, Buccleuch Place Lane, Boroughloch, Gifford Park and Buccleuch Terrace and visitors of St Albert’s Catholic Chaplaincy can still gain access, egress and parking as usual at all times via Hope Park Crescent using the residents vehicle pass posted to your address.

Quartermile and Lauriston access and egress available at all times via Tollcross.

Buccleuch Place: Access, egress and parking on the South side via Hope Park Crescent using the residents vehicle pass between: –Saturday 6pm–11pm. –Sunday 10:30am– 7pm. No access between Saturday 11pm–Sunday 10.30am. Road reopens fully back to usual access Sunday 7pm

Only local access and parking permit

Access to Beulah, Woodside Gardens, Windsor Gardens, Linkfield Court and Craighall Terrace via Linkfield Road will only be possible before 08:00 and after 19:30 via Ashgrove. We are unable to allow vehicular traffic on Linkfield Road during the race due to public safety concerns. If you wish to use your vehicle between 08:00 and 19:30 then please park on Ashgrove and exit via Pinkie Road. You should expect a higher than normal volume of traffic on Pinkie Road so please add extra time to your journey. Please display your Resident Vehicle Pass clearly in your vehicle to park and gain access to Ashgrove throughout the closure period.

• In Port Seton, vehicle movement along B1348 (Links Road) is maintained westbound between Long Craigs (C) and East Lorimer Place (A). There is full access into the Links Road Garage (B) until 11:45 when the first runner will pass this point on course. Between 11:45am and 3:30pm when runners are on course, access to the Links Road Garage will be limited but access can be provided by race stewards if/when gaps in the runners allow.

• Eastbound access along Links Road is maintained between Long Craigs (C) and Seton Sands Holiday Park (D) to facilitate access in and out of the park. There is no eastbound access beyond the park entrance.

Links Road Garage open all day. Assisted vehicle access 11.45am–3.30pm

Cockenzie/Port Seton residents and vehicle access

Total journey time–approximately 20 minutes

This is a free shuttle provided for the use of those living in Port Seton, Cockenzie and Prestonpans. Please wait at any bus stop on the route map above and the bus will take you to the connection point at Bankton Terrace, Prestonpans where you will be able to use the Lothian Bus network to travel to your desired location. This service will start at 05:30 and will continue at approximately 15 minute intervals until 19:30 or when Lothian Buses normal services resume.
