Notice for Public

The Sultanate of Oman has announced scholarships for Indian national under OmaniProgramme for Cultural and Scientific Cooperation for the academic year 2016-17. Thescholarships are for higher studies.

2. Eligibility criteria:• Age: below 25 year as on 01.10.2016• Qualificationis): holder of General Secondary Certificate/Higher Education

Diploma.

3. Value of scholarship award is as follows:

• R.O. 200= $ 518, being pocket money + boarding + accommodation andtransportation.

• Two way air ticket once in a year.• Free treatment in the Government hospitals, except the treatment charges related

with road accidents, for those who are having uninsured vehicles or driving withouthaving the driving license or like that.

4. Conditions of acceptance in the proposed Higher Education Institutions are asfollows:

• Sharia Institute:• Higher Technical Colleges:• Colleges of Applied Sciences:• Financial and Banking Studies Colleges:• Sultan Qaboos University College require

the candidate to have minimum marks forthe subjects of specialization for each programme.

• Private Higher Studies Institutions:

5. Interested candidates are required to fill the Application Form as prescribed by theSultanate of Oman and attach the required documents. The complete application formalong with Cover Letter (pro forma enclosed) is required to be sent to the Ministry ofHuman Resource Development on or before 22.08.2016.

6. Candidates are required to attach the proof of marks obtained in the GeneralSecondary Certificate/Higher Education Diploma with the application. Candidates areadvised to contact their preferred university/institution regarding qualification required forthe chosen course.

(Note: General Secondary Certificate (Higher Education Diploma) issued out of Oman areto be equalized from Ministry of Education or Oman. In case this is not provided, theapplication will not be considered by the Ministry of Education of Oman. Form ofQualification Evaluation Application in both English and Arabic are enclosed forsubmission to the Education Ministry in Oman.)

7. The candidates nominated for Arabic Language Programme in the Government andPrivate Higher Education Institutions, has to obtain a minimum of 80% marks in the ArabicLanguage.

8. The application of only those candidates would be considered who fulfill mentionedbelow conditions as well as the conditions prescribed by the Sultanate of Oman:

1) The candidate who has already been abroad for study/research/training formore than six months at a time (either on a scholarship or on his own) is eligible toapply only if he/she has been in India for at least two consecutive years as on theapplication deadline (22.08.2016) after his return from abroad.

2) Application of the applicant who is staying abroad will not be considered.

9. The decision of the Sultanate of Oman regarding award of scholarship will be final.
