FITNESS ACTIVITY CENTER FACILITY VOTE WATCH YOUR MAILBOXES. Wednesday, 2/28 the ballots to approve moving forward with the financing package for the construction of the new Fitness Activity Center Facility were mailed. It will be built on the vacant lot North of our Administration Center. The ballot will contain the details of the financing and the building’s final design.

We ask for your support and urge you to vote to APPROVE the financing of this major enhancement to our Community – one that will give us and our future members a bright, well-equipped facility with the proper space for a broad range of fitness disciplines, one that we can be proud of, and one that meets our standards and the expectations of new homeowners.

SPRING BREAK IS HERE I realize that we all want to show our grandkids a good time when they come to visit during spring break. Please be aware there are dangers in our neighborhood. One of the biggest dangers we have on our roads is inexperienced golf cart drivers.

Board Policy 6-03, V. Vehicles reads: All motorized vehicles, including golf carts, shall be licensed; shall be operated by licensed operators in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona.

Please be aware of this danger. Some of our drivers do not have the reaction time they used to. An inexperienced (unlicensed driver) probably has zero reaction time. This is a formula for disaster.

THINKING OF BEING ON A COMMITTEE?

CURRENT COMMITTEE OPENINGS:

AUDIT & FINANCE The purpose of the Audit and Finance Committee is to review and audit the financial operations of the Homeowner Association of Cottonwood Palo Verde at Sun Lakes and to perform other tasks as required by the Board of Directors.

A&F is an advisory committee established to assist the Board in its oversight responsibilities concerning audit, compliance and the implementation of the financial reporting systems.

A&F is composed of seven members who review the monthly financial statement, provide financial forecasts to the Board and Management and conduct special studies and audits at the request of the Board. The committee meets on the first Thursday of each month at 3:00pm in the Phoenix Room unless otherwise posted. Join us. WE WATCH OUR MONEY!

FACILITIES & GROUNDS The Facilities & Grounds Committee meets monthly to assist the Board and CWPV Management with projects brought forth by the Board/Management Long Range Planning Team (B/M LRPT). The Committee is directly responsible to the B/M LRPT. The Committee will also solicit and be responsive to suggestions and recommendations of individual CWPV HOA Members, Management, all other HOA Committees and groups.

The Facilities & Grounds Committee is a standing committee consisting of seven (7) members. Meetings are normally held on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00AM in the Phoenix Room. We seek your involvement in the future of your community. Please fill out an application at the Administration Office and become part of the future of Cottonwood Palo Verde at Sun Lakes.

SAFETY, SECURITY & ACCESS COMMITTEE (SSAC) The SSAC’s purpose is to serve as the eyes & ears of the residents by defining safety concerns and providing recommendations to Management and the Board of Directors. Some examples include: monitoring the Speed Minders; promoting use of smoke detectors & fire extinguishers; improving visibility of golf carts & cart crossings; advising homeowners on preparing their homes when they’re away on vacation or extended leave; working with Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department to develop a more “visual presence” in our community & developing a safety program for residents who walk our streets at dusk and/or dawn.

Members come from all walks of life: former and/or retired police officers, fire fighters, insurance employees, military, attorneys, health care, customer service, etc. Our only real requirement is to truly care about the well-being of our community. Pick up an application and join us or attend one of our meetings and share your ideas.
