Sept. 19. The game-winning eld goal was the second longest in school history and ed

the Kinnick Stadium record (Arizona’s Lee Pistor in 1977).

Aer Pi ed the game, 24-24, with 0:52 le in the fourth quarter, Iowa DB Desmond

King picked up a squib kick at the 3-yard line and returned it 27 yards to the Iowa 30. QB

aer a pair of sideline routes to WR Tevaun Smith fell incomplete, Beathard scrambled

for eight yards to the Pi 39-yard line. Iowa then used its nal meout to stop the clock

    with two seconds le.

On fourth-and-2, Pi called a meout to freeze Koehn. Koehn let a kick sail anyway,

but it landed far short of the goal post. On the ensuing aempt, Dillon Kidd placed a snap

from Tyler Kluver on the Pi 47-yard line, and Koehn split the uprights, giving Iowa its rst

Since 1999, Kirk Ferentz’s rst year as UI head coach, the Hawkeyes have had a future

NFL player start on the oensive line in every season.

In each of the last eight years, an eventual NFL rst-round dra pick started on the

oensive line. Brandon Scher, selected by the Washington Redskins h overall in 2015,was Iowa’s le tackle from 2012-14. Riley Rei, selected 23rd overall by the Detroit Lions in

2012, started at le tackle from 2010-11. Bryan Bulaga, selected 23rd overall by the Green

Bay Packers in 2010, started at le guard in 2007 before moving to le tackle in 2008-09.
