Notes for the teacher:

The 2 celeb quotes set the scene for finding out about the World Cup teams – do the students know more about the teams taking part ?

Give each student the list of teams in English and each table or group a set of the team names in Spanish. They work as teams to match up the Spanish and English.

Then you can talk about which countries speak which languages, particularly Spanish. (KS2 Framework IU3)
