Notes for teacher Make sure pupils line up and enter the classroom in absolute silence, but greet them warmly at the door. For the first part of the lesson pupils will work on a scrap piece of paper. When giving out exercise books stress the importance of keeping exercise books tidy and neat-they are a reflection of them as a pupil. Make sure pupils understand that we have very high expectations but be welcoming. No tolerance of talking or sloppy work-make sure that you give out reminders to send out the message. They all have the reminder system explained in transition week and by tutors so no excuses. Give out stickers to 5 top pupils at the end.
