It is a great honour to earn the responsibility of managing and maintaining the wine cellar at the Albany Club. As an Albany Club member you can be assured that before a wine makes it on to the list it has been carefully selected for both quality & value. As the Sommelier at the Club I take pride stocking the cellar with great wines, while also broadening the horizons of the collection; including wines from all over the world. Every wine served at the club speaks to where it comes from and leaves a lasting impression. My goal is to provide members with a truly global cellar, offering the best of what each wine region can produce.
A major benefit of our wine program is that we charge a flat markup on most bottles. This means that accessing a global collection of some of the world’s best wines is possible at a much better value than other establishments in the city. Many of our wines appear on the lists of Toronto’s most prominent restaurants - but because of our pricing, members are able to experience these wines at a fraction of the cost. Most of the wines on our list are also not available at the LCBO. When you purchase a bottle of wine at your Club, you really are having an experience you cannot have at home.
Note from the Sommelier
I look forward to continuing to manage your wine cellar and invite you to uncork something spectacular with your next meal.
Cheers!
Gianmarco ZentenaMaitre’D and Sommelier

Pearl Morissette produces wines with grapes that have achieved full varietal ripeness, they use modern and historical wine making techniques. Famously, one of their wines did not pass VQA
certification even though the wine was made with 100% estate grown fruit, the tasting panel decided the wine lacked typicity and could not be considered indicative of Niagara Riesling. This
“Blackballing” by the VQA led to Pearl Morissette naming the wine “Cuvée Black Ball”.
New World Whites
Loveblock is made by Kim Crawford, known for producing popular wines from New Zealand. This wine is her passion project and is a lovely expression of the best New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc has to offer.

Poggio Di Guardia is a new Super Tuscan blend made by the previous head winemaker at Antinori. The wine is made from fruit sourced from an abandoned farm located in a heavily
wooded area two kilometers from the nearest neighbor. The terroir here is completely natural and the wine is on its way to achieving organic certification

The Bin Ends section of the wine list offers exceptional value to our members. Wines in this section have seen cellar age in the club’s climate-controlled cellar. There are only a few of each
bottle left and they cannot be placed on the regular wine list for that reason. As these are the last of their respective brands, they have been marked down in price to make room in our cellar for
tomorrow’s next exciting wine.
