Cause and PrerequisitesThe IBM Redbook "High Availability Using System Automation" (SG24-6836-00)describes how you can use RFCPING as a monitor. Until now, RFCPING was notavailable for customers.
SolutionAs of Release 6.20, RFCPING for the z/OS platform is contained in SAP Basisand can be downloaded as a patch from the SAP Service Marketplace. RFCPINGis located at SAP WEB AS 6.20 -> Binary Patches -> SAP Kernel 6.20 ->OS390_32.RFCPING is also required for the DB2 UDB platform to support the highavailability on Linux (x86) using Tivoli System Automation. RFCPING isavailable under SAP WEB AS ABAP -> SAP Kernel 6.20 32Bit -> Linux 32.The monitor is downward-compatible and can therefore also be used with R/3Release 4.6. For details on using the monitor in connection with the IBMproduct "System Automation for OS/390", see the Redbook mentioned above.
