8000 MTE, including up to

4000 performance monitor attributes (MA)

1000 Message Log MA

1000 Status Message MA

600 Text attributes (long text)

2000 Text attributes (long text)

The remaining space is filled by lines in log attributes and alerts (each

approx. 2000).

The possible number of monitored objects is increased when the segment

is increased (higher release or higher value of profile parameter

alert/MONI_SEGM_SIZE). You should use whole-number multiples of the

default value 2000000 as a value.

The possible number of monitored objects increases according to the

chosen factor.

If, for example, many file systems are installed on an application

server and if the number of 250 performance MA is therefore not

sufficient (every file system is monitored with two performance MA),

then 500 performance MA are available instead of 250 with

alert/MONI_SEGM_SIZE=4000000 (standard as of Release 4.5B).

As of Release 4.6A, segment alerts are returned if problems occur due

to lack of space in Selfmonitoring:

RZ20->SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors -->CCMS Selfmonitoring (old

version) --> MoniInfra_<Instance_name> --> Space

The analysis method assigned in the sub-tree indicates the size and

structure of the Shared Memory Segment.

2. alert/MTTREE alert/ALERTS alert/PERFHIST

When you shut down an application server, the existing monitoring

information (tree structure, current values, performance history of

the last 24 hours and active alerts) are saved in the file system. The

profile parameters listed above describe the corresponding three files

which are normally stored in the directory $DIR_LOGGING.
