This idea was inspired by a Nissan-commissioned study that found nearly a third of 9-13 year olds believe that footballers and racing drivers have the most exciting careers in the world. The study found 22% of the youngsters admitted becoming a footballer would be their ultimate dream job. And 64% of the 1000 respondents highlighted learning to drive as their most exhilarating future milestone.

On the day, the 4 Manchester City players went head-to-head at “Manchester City Race Way” on the Eithad Campus, the course included a number of tricky obstacles. Mangala was the winner of the event, beating Fernando in the final.

Nissan Motors GB Marketing Director Chris Marsh, added: “Through our partnership with Manchester City Football Club, we’ve been able to bring to life some of the ultimate passions of our fans – football and driving.”

The Chosen Vehicle The Nissan Juke Nismo RS was used in the Dream Job Swap race. It is the hot, performance version of the popular Nissan Juke. The car marries the rich racetrack heritage of the Nismo brand with impressive performance credentials, aggressive styling and optimum handling characteristics.

The Juke Nismo RS, can be yours for just £189 a month, including a £1,200 Nissan Deposit Contribution at 3.99% APR Representative.

Nissan has set an astonishing Guinness World Record for the fastest ever drift. The record was broken with a speed of 304.96 km/hr at a 30 degrees angle using a specially-tuned MY16 Nissan GT-R.

The record-breaking vehicle was developed with the support and coordination of Nismo specialists. The vehicle was tuned to 1380HP, adapted so all the power went to the rear wheels and set up for agility, while maintaining stability- essential when performing such challenging feats.

“Once again, Nissan has broken a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title and has made international history for the fifth time in the Middle East,” said Samir Cherfan, Managing Director of Nissan Middle East.

NEW GT-R COMING TO TOWNWhilst on the subject of the Nissan GT-R, it has been announced that an updated model will be coming to the UK in 2017. The vehicle was unveiled at the New York International Auto Show, and highlights include an exciting new look both inside and out, as well as major driving-performance enhancements and key new features.

SPIED: NEXT- GENERATION MICRA

8

The next generation Micra is due for release in 2017 and for the first time it has been spotted out and about. The supermini is set to debut towards the end of this year with a radical new look and more technology.

The latest model will see a major platform update and is likely to use the all-new CMF-B small car platform architecture shared with Renault.

Despite the vehicle being plastered in gaffer tape it is clear to see the exterior design is heavily influenced by the Sway concept which debuted in Geneva last year. The Sway concept was designed with

the objective of shaking up the compact hatchback segment. This was achieved by swooping lines, striking nose, elegantly simple interior and bold use of sophisticated colours.

The new Micra will be longer, lower and wider than ever as well as incorporating a sporty look. This means there will be a lot of extra interior space, both for passengers and the boot. It is expected to have a futuristic cabin design, with autonomous braking and smartphone connectivity features.

Details of the engine range are currently unknown, however its expected turbocharged petrols and diesels will be available. We are expecting the car to be revealed at a Motor Show in the second half of 2016.

Engines, performance and drive The original Qashqai was fun to drive but the latest model takes a more mature approach. Levels of noise and vibration have been vastly improved and it achieves a composed feel in corners thanks to Nissan’s Active Trace Control torque vectoring system. Auto express found that there is rarely a problem around town, thanks to the high driving position, light controls and descent visibility, making it an easy drive through crowded streets.

MPG, CO2 and Running Costs Auto Express credited the vehicles impressively economical range of engines, especially the 1.5dCi diesel, which achieves 74.3mpg and is also road tax exempt.

Interior, Design and Technology

The biggest change compared to the original model is its upmarket look, thanks to a sharp nose, distinctive LED running lights, and the use of chrome bars and wrap around rear lights on the tailgate. Auto express further commented that on the inside the vehicle looks sharp and feels well built.

Practicality, Comfort and Boot Space Key positives found decent legroom throughout the vehicle even on the middle-seat which wasn’t intruded by the transmission tunnel. The amount of storage is also ideal for families; with a large glovebox, several cubbies and an electric handbrake which frees up space in the centre console.Reliability and Safety

NISSAN QASHQAI IS STILL GETTING 5* REVIEWSThe latest model of the Nissan Qashqai was launched back in November 2013 and immediately received fantastic reviews and a jaw-dropping range of awards including winning WHATCAR? Car of the Year (Best Small SUV) for three years running.

The Qashqai has been awarded the Euro NCAP full five star rating, with the car scoring very well in adult and child occupant categories. The vehicles safety shield technology give the driver further reassurance thanks to autonomous braking, lane departure warning, drowsiness detection, blind spot warning and traffic sign recognition.

Overall The second-generation Qashqai takes over from where the old one left off. With significant improvements to safety, multimedia and build quality being the vehicles key highlights.
