SAR
RF safety is a regulatory requirement for many wireless
devices.Weve expanded our testing services to include SAR
(SpecicAbsorption Rate) evaluations.
Our SAR Testing lab is located in a semi-anechoic chamber
tomaintain strict temperature control and eliminate inuences
fromother nearby transmitters. Weve selected the premier supplierof
SAR evaluation systems and government-preferred vendor,SPEAG of
Zurich Switzerland, to provide their latest offering theDASY5.
Equipped with probes, tissue simulants, and phantoms,the DASY5 can
evaluate wireless devices operating from 400MHz 6 GHz.
In addition, we use Agilent 8960 test set to support all
cellularoperating modes up through EVDO and HSPA Rel. 6. Our
SARtesting is NVLAP accredited to ISO 17025 requirements.

WIRELESS TESTINGand SAR EVALUATIONS
Notable Equipment: SPEAG DASY5 SAR test system,Agilent 8960 call
box, and Agilent PNA network analyzer(20 GHz) with dielectric
probe.
Devices that require SAR: System integrators andmedical device
manufacturers with radios that areoperated closer than 20cm to the
head or torso. Thisincludes devices that are small enough for a
coat pocket,belt clip, or used on the lap like a notebook
computer.
The SAR chamber is 12 ft wide by 16 ft long x 8 ft high.
Adedicated HVAC unit provides +/- 1 degree C
temperaturecontrol.
The SAR measurement system is located in a semi-anechoicchamber.
This provides an ambient free environment that alsoeliminates
reections.
