Studies show that boys who have a significant male in their life, who supports them in their school endeavours, tend to do a lot better than those who do not. Each year the numbers attending this night have grown and the feedback that we receive from the participants (both adult and child) is extremely positive. The theme of the night is always to highlight the importance of the relationship between a boy and a significant adult male. This year’s guest is TV, radio and performing arts personality Brian Nankervis. The night begins with a sausage sizzle at 6pm followed by an address by Brian. We hope to see a very large turnout on Wednesday. iPad FEEDBACK At the end of term 3, the parents of Year 4 students were sent information regarding a potential iPad program for these children in 2015. This document also asked that parents provide feedback on the program. Mr. Skidmore would like to request that all feedback information sheets distributed before the holidays to Year 4 students be returned to the school as soon as possible. This will allow School Council to discuss the one to one iPad program for Year 5 students in 2015 at its next meeting on Tuesday night. Thank you to those parents who have already returned their form. JOINT SCHOOL COUNCIL MEETING Next Tuesday night the LPPS School Council will meet with the school councils from Woodlands and Langwarrin Primary Schools and that of Elisabeth Murdoch College. These joint meetings are conducted annually and this is the third of its type. We have found that councillors appreciate the opportunity to meet their counterparts from other schools and share issues and good practice. Langwarrin is blessed with three excellent primary schools and one secondary college and it is important for our children that we continue to promote and grow this high standard of state education in our district. KITCHEN GARDEN LPPS has established a link with the Langwarrin Men’s Shed. This group of volunteers does projects around the community and has kindly offered to assist us with the establishment of our Kitchen Garden. Over the holidays these men began work on building some additional garden beds and spent today completing them. Pictured below are three of the gentlemen along with Carol and volunteer Mrs. Higgins, grandparent to Milly—P3, Lachie—2/26 and Thomas—6/11. We are very appreciative of their efforts. Coming Up: Next School Council—Tuesday, October 14 First Day of Term 4—Monday, October 6 Father/Son Night—Wednesday, October 15 Curriculum Day—Monday, November 3 Last Day of Term—Friday, December 19 (1.30pm finish) Ray Flanagan

UPDATE OF STUDENT DETAILS

Please, please, please if you have moved, changed/deleted home or mobile phone numbers or changed

emergency contact details we desperately need to know. So many times when a child is sick or injured the front

office has trouble making contact with either parents or emergency contacts which can be ex-

tremely stressful for your child as they think that no-one is available to come and collect them.

CAR PARKING AROUND THE SCHOOL

The Langwarrin Park Kinder Committee have pleaded with the school to inform

parents who have been using this car park area to stop and pick up their school children to STOP. Parking in this area

by our parents causes mass confusion at Kinder pick-up times, please park out in the street.

PARKING IN THE SCHOOL

GROUNDS IS ALSO FORBIDDEN AS THIS AREA IS FOR STAFF ONLY UNLESS YOU ARE ATTENDING THE SWIM-MING POOL FOR LESSONS
