Nothing can stop the generosity of the G. Thank you

everyone! For loading the truck with donation to the

    Steinford Foundation.

  • 3 JANUARY 2021 NEWSLETTER

Hello Chapter “G”! My name is Donita and I am your

new assistant chapter director. I know you must be

asking why I would volunteer for another 4 years of

leading the “G”. Who does that?? Well, you all know I

have a deep love for our chapter family so when Randy

and Kim asked me to support them and step up, I just

couldn’t refuse. I look forward to working with the

Pommier’s to keep the “G” great and fun!

For the past 6 years I have given you the best I had to

offer, be it fiction or non-fiction, in the form of our

chapter newsletter. I’ve had a lot of fun with all of you,

but it’s now time to pass the baton to another very

worthy member. As you can see in this, her first edi-

tion, Mary has taken on this newsletter with great exu-

berance! I am excited to see where she will take us,

and know she will do amazing things. I happily wel-

come the Eicher’s to our coordinator team.

I trust everyone had a Holiday season. I don’t know if

yours was good or bad, busy or quiet, but I trust you

had one just the same. For me it was extremely quiet

and mostly uneventful, but there was one incident that

    I feel must be shared.

It was Christmas Eve and I was arriving home from my

son’s house where I had dinner. It was late, cold, and

snow had fallen. Now you all know my thoughts about

all the Christmas hub-bub. I don’t decorate or engage

in the year-end money-letting that most of the popu-

lous takes part in. I noticed outside the door that there

were tiny little footprints in the snow. The neighbors’

cats spend a lot of time around my house, and even

though they didn’t look like paw prints, I just blew it off

and went inside. It was dark, but there was the distinct

smell of pine and peppermint in the air. I was scared a

little and almost left to call the police, but instead I

gathered my wits and flipped on the light. To my un-

jolly disgust there was a tree and thousands of lights!

A blow-up Santa inflated in the center of my living

room and Christmas carols started blaring on the radio.

I felt nauseous, but powered through all that Christmas

cheer. There was laughter outside the back door and I

quickly headed that way to see who was responsible

for this sabotage. I didn't recognize the culprits, but

they were short and I saw pointy little ears as they

scurried away. I guess I’ll never know who these little

terrorist were, but rest assured, I can still give you this

kind of nonsense even though I’m not the editor.

Peace, Love, and Merry New Year!

I am looking forward to my new position as the Special Events Coordinator. I just hope 2021 allows us to have some special events. I plan to take the lead from the suggestions that have been submitted. We may need to be creative in 2021, but I am up for the challenge.

I hope you were able to celebrate Christmas safely with your family. Happy New Year Chapter G I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming gathering.

    Hello Chapter G Members,

Our Kentucky District MEPC’s, Dave & Roxie Wilkinson,

Hello Chapter G Members, Welcome to 2021! Due to not having any Chapter Meetings in person, there is no Chapter G treasury business to report. We hope to see more smiling G faces at the monthly Zoom Chapter calls. Hopefully soon, we will be able to get back to our face-to- face monthly chapter meetings along with our 50/50, door prizes and hugs. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

5 Resolutions for Motorcyclists 1. Put your safety first. We know the endless safety tips and warnings get old, but a single lapse in judg-ment on your motorcycle could send you to the hospi-tal or worse. Make it your goal to reduce your risk fac-tors and leave behind any bad advice you have picked up over the course of your riding career. It goes with-out saying that you should never operate any type of vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Make a pact with your riding buddies to hold each other ac-countable and keep the roads safe. Consider riding with proper safety gear. 2. Learn a new skill. Motorcyclists of any experience level can benefit from taking a riding course. This is especially true for us in Kentucky where winter weath-er keeps many of us off the road for several months. Some insurance companies and manufacturers will even cut you a deal for taking the time to brush up on your skills. 3. Get out more often. Practice makes perfect. Dedi-cate yourself to making the most of this valuable time. Try commuting to work on your bike and carve out time every weekend to hit the road for an hour or two. Convince a loved one to give riding a try or find some new riding buddies to give you another excuse to get out on your bike. Find a deserted parking lot, like a school lot on the weekend, or your church lot during the week, and practice your slow speed skills. 4. Ride somewhere new. Have you always dreamed of taking off on a cross-country ride? This is your year to make it happen. Do you only have time for a weekend adventure? Check out a popular destination closer to home. Even if you cannot leave your state or city, there are bound to be many roads you have left un-traveled. Take a new route to your go-to hangout or ask a friend for suggestions. New routes present new challenges, and new challenges are opportunities to learn. 5. Support a cause. Whether you are passionate about helping children or supporting America’s heroes, there are endless ways you can give back to your community while you ride. Get your crew together and sign up for

an upcoming charity ride or poker run in your area or organize your own event to benefit a cause that is close to your heart.

    the future.

represent the Chapter better this year.

  • 9 JANUARY 2021 NEWSLETTER

Congratulations to those who are celebrating their January Chapter G anniversaries ‘Twas the month after Christmas and we’d just met on Zoom, Not a creature was stirring … not even a baboon. The bikes were all winterized with intension and care, As we hoped sunshine and warm weather … soon would be there! Kim and Randy were both ready to lead Chapter G fun, Though at times secretly questioned, “What have we done?” But Kim in her ‘kerchief and Randy in his cap, Thought things would be doable … if they could just get a nap! When out on the roof there arose such a clatter, We sprang from our Zoom screens to see what was the matter! But as we ran to the windows with our excitement enhanced, We realized Zoom members had failed … to put on their pants! The moon sparkled and glistened … on the new fallen snow, Which to non-bikers would be great … but for bikers a tough blow! When what to our wondering eyes should suddenly appear, But faces of January members … whom we love and hold dear! With Gary Heil as the driver so lively and fun, We knew in a moment it was now 2021! More rapid than eagles this new year had started, But, more importantly, 2020 had FINALLY departed! Now Ramona! Now Pete! On Bob! And on Pam! Now Deward and Suzanne! Keep up if you can! On Alice! On Dave! Now Darlene! Now Michele! Our “G” members are great! And so is Raven as well! To the top of the porch, To the top of the wall, Now give Gary your mileage, FOR IT’S JANUARY … YOU ALL!!!
