Fellow Cattlemen, I would like to start by saying what a privilege it is to offer these Hereford breeding animals for your evalu-ation. The cattle here have been a going on 4 gen-eration tradition that is very dear to the entire Diemert family, with the original stock imported in 1945 from Canada and the McKintyre herd. The Hereford breed has been a steady tradition, way of life, and honor to be associated and we hold its strengths as the back-bone of an effi cient maternal source for the real world ranch setting in high fashion. Our focus has been on optimizing the Hereford female and her maternal abilities of fertility, maintenance, ruggedness, and productive longevity in an effi cient, functional type. Our environment has not changed since 1909 and is used as an unbiased tool to pressure and naturally select for optimal maternal traits. There are no hid-ing places for genetics to the contrary. I believe the females here go thru a selection process unlike any-where else before they are ever given the opportunity to pass on their genetics. The bull offering in this catalog are all yearling bulls as I had the opportunity to market everything here last season. It will take me another year to get back to offering bulls here as coming two’s but have the same confi dence in them as yearlings as they repre-sent the top 1/3 of the crop. Shortly into his 2nd breeding season 356E was killed by lightning so I retained 9806 out of a direct 8020 proven cow to replace him. 9806 proved to be a superior Herd sire. 9806 consistently sired exceptional brood females and popular ranch bulls - many to our own com herd and another son (505) used in the registered herd.
