The overall objective of the Project
Interactive show, SHUM GORABatetsky region, 2011
– To facilitate cooperation in the field of culture between Russian Federation (Great Novgorod region, Staraya Ladoga), Sweden and Denmark based on the common rich historical background from Viking époque.
Objectives and tasks:
Finds of Nordic originin Novgorod oblastj
To make historical and cultural heritage more available to the wide public and to raise the awareness
To establish the Network and long-term international cooperation among museums, archeological scientists and historians
To establish the open air Viking Age archeological site museum in Batetsky region of Novgorod oblastj
To create a new touristic destination attractive for cultural travelers, including the site museum in Batetsky region as well as already existing Rurikovo Gorodishe and “Slavic Villiage” in Lubyatino; to get skills and knowledge in promotion of local cultural destinations, using culture as a motor for the regional development
