Welcome
Welcome to the 2nd N/E Texas (and 111th Dallas District) Assembly and Convention The team that is on mission here in this part of the state and denomination has produced some awesome, exciting “play by plays” in each community. Our team has made some upward trends in many areas of reporting. I'm excited that as a team we have been able to accomplish starting new churches, monetary assistance to a number of churches, and have made huge in-roads into our communities. We have enjoyed a turnaround year on this great team when compared with the last 10 years. As with all teams, in sports, we have seen many of our churches step up to the plate to enjoy a banner year. Some others have worked hard but the stats don't reflect that hard work. Nonetheless, as a team we have been successful in many categories. As a team we can say we have done very good. The proof that we are in this mission together - no matter what stats may be shown individually - is a sign of a successful season. You quite often hear the comment that when a team doesn't do well in the present season, they hoped they would, there is always next season. I believe this to be our theme for 2019-20 - we have a next season ahead of us to work and mission together. With that said we are a district family that is: All About the ONE (team) Welcome! Bienvenidos a la Segunda Asamblea y Convención del Distrito N/E de Texas (y la CXI del
Distrito Dallas)
El equipo que está en misión aquí en esta parte del estado y la denominación ha producido
algunos "comentarios" increíbles y emocionantes en cada comunidad. Nuestro equipo ha hecho

haber hecho enormes incursiones en nuestras comunidades. Hemos disfrutado de un año de

Al igual que con todos los equipos, en los deportes, hemos visto a muchas de nuestras iglesias
ponerse las pilas para disfrutar de un año excepcional. Algunas otras han trabajado duro, pero
las estadísticas no reflejan esa dura labor. No obstante, como equipo hemos tenido éxito en
muchas categorías. En conjunto podemos decir que lo hemos hecho muy bien. La prueba que
estamos juntos en esta misión, independientemente de lo que las estadísticas puedan mostrar
individualmente, es señal de una temporada exitosa. Cuando a un equipo no le va bien en la
presente temporada, muy a menudo se escucha el comentario de que eso era lo que se espera,
pero que siempre hay la próxima temporada. Creo que este es nuestro tema para 2019-20:

Childcare will be provided on-site at Richardson Church. It is very important that you register all children needing childcare during the Conventions and District Assembly. District Nominations Committee/ Comité de Nominaciones A Nominating Committee selected in accordance with the Manual, met on March 23, 2019, in Richardson Texas with the following persons present: Dr. Keven Wentworth, Rev. Larry Williams, Rev. Dave Carlson, Phil Lindquist, Rica Payton, Margaret Cash, Rev. Marlene James, Rev. Daniel Smith, Rev. Charky Marquis, Rev. Sigrid Blandon, Rev. Mike Gentry. In making recommendations and nominations, the District Nominating Committee sought to ensure that all nominees met the requirements of Manual section 34 & 113.11, and whose local home church has paid all district allocations. We, your Nominating Committee, recommend the following assembly committees: A. Public Worship: Dr. Carla Sunberg, General Superintendent, Dr. Keven Wentworth, District
Superintendent, Rev. Larry Williams, and Rev. Jim Puckett B. Introductions: Dr. Carla Sunberg, Dr. Keven Wentworth, and Rev. Larry Williams C. Journal Committee: Montie Brown, Larry Williams D. We, your Committee on Nominations, recommend that the election of district officers and board members, be by plurality. We recommend that whenever an elected nominee declines the nomination, the District Superintendent shall be empowered to select the nominee who received the next highest number of votes. District Advisory Board
The Dallas District Advisory Board reports the following actions and recommendations:
1. The District Advisory Board held six regularly scheduled meetings during the 2018-2019 church
year and two specially called conference call meetings.
2. Interim ministerial transfers were processed and referred to the Ministerial Credentials Board in
accordance with Manual paragraphs 223,228.9, 228.10, 434. Recommended to the Board of
Ministry for District License renewals those ministers assigned as Senior Pastors.
3. Approved the disorganization/dropping of these church-type missions: Rey de Reyes Iglesia del
Nazareno, and Plano Primera Iglesia del Nazareno.
4. Approved the formation of two new church plants/Church-type Missions: Palladium Fellowship
(in Van Alstyne TX) and Grace Chapel (in Paris TX.)
5. The District Advisory Board recommends the appointment of Ron Marchant as Trustee
(Layperson) for Southern Nazarene University for a 3-year term of 2019-2022.
6. Approved the designation of the Renovacion Church (formerly McKinney Emanuel) as an
Organized Church
7. Appointed a District Nominations Committee for 2019.

8. Approved designated amounts of the District Superintendent’s compensation for “housing
allowance” and for transportation.
9. On the recommendation of the District Finance Committee and the Ad-Hoc District Investment
Committee, approved changes to the investment plan and fund allocations of District savings
currently invested in Vanguard Funds – with these changes to be implemented during the 2019-
2020 church year.
10. Approved the sale of an unimproved land parcel on LaPrada Road in Mesquite (sale closed in
February 2019).
11. Approved the District Superintendent’s appointment of Rev. Scott McDorman as Chairman of
the District Board of Ministry.
12. Approved both Scottsville Nazarene Camp Budget and the District Budget for 2019-2020 and
recommended these to the District Finance Committee. (Note: these budgets are reflected in
the Finance Committee Report and the District Treasurer’s Report.)
13. Approved the re-allocation of District funds for repairs, renovation of the parsonage, an interim
loan, and utilities in order to “re-start” the Marshall Community Church; roof repairs for the
Tatum Crossroads Church (Carthage); emergency repairs at Bread of Life Church (Commerce.
14. Approved requests by local churches to seek loans/borrow money for building projects at Frisco
New Start Church (church facility) and Dallas Primera Church (build a parsonage.).
15. Conducted two “District Visioning” meetings to develop mission goals and strategic plans for the
District (“The Concept of ONE” to be presented by the D.S. at next District Assembly.)
16. Approved the marketing for sale of unimproved land by the Grand Prairie Family Church.
17. Approved a lease renewal, for 3 years, for the District Office space.
18. Approved the formation of a District Disaster Response Team, appointed Randall Scott as
Coordinator, and submitted a grant request for funds to the Global Ministry Center.
19. Received the resignation of Rev. Dave Pettigrew from the District Advisory Board (this position
to be filled by election at the District Assembly.
20. The recorded minutes of all District Advisory Board meetings are on file at the district office.

La Junta Consultora del Distrito NorEste de Texas informa las siguientes acciones y recomendaciones:
1. La Junta Consultora del Distrito llevo a cabo seis reuniones programadas regularmente durante el año eclesiastico 2018-2019 y dos reunion telefónica especialmente convocadas.
2. Las transferencias ministeriales provisionales se procesaron y se remitieron a la Junta de Credenciales Ministeriales de acuerdo con los párrafos 223,228.9, 228.10, 434. del Manual. Se recomendó a la Junta de Ministerios de renovacion de licencias de distrito a los ministros asignados como Pastores Principales.
3. Aprobó la desorganización / cancelacion de estas misiones de tipo iglesia: Rey de Reyes Iglesia del Nazareno y Plano Primera Iglesia del Nazareno.
4. Aprobó la formación de dos nuevas iglesias / Misiones de tipo iglesia: Palladium Fellowship (en Van Alstyne, TX) y Grace Chapel (en Paris, TX.)

10. Aprobó la venta de un terreno no mejorado en LaPrada Road en Mesquite (venta cerrada en febrero de 2019).
11. Aprobó el nombramiento del Superintendente de Distrito del Reverendo Scott McDorman como Presidente de la Junta de Ministerio de Distrito.
12. Aprobó el Presupuesto del Campamento Nazareno de Scottsville y el Presupuesto del Distrito para 2019-2020 y los recomendó al Comité de Finanzas del Distrito. (Nota: estos presupuestos se reflejan en el Informe del Comité de Finanzas y en el Informe del Tesorero del Distrito).
