Hello Spring!!

In the lengthening of days,Snowdrops emerging, from winter's frozen ground.A. WE SEE THE CREATOR'S HAND

In the sight of a tiny lambjoyfully boundingacross hillside farmA. WE SEE THE CREATOR'S HAND

Creator God, forgive our moments of ingratitude, the spiritual blindness that prevents us from appreciating the wonder that is this world, the endless cycle of nature, of life and death and rebirth. Forgive us for taking without giving, reaping without sowing. Open our eyes to see, our lips to praise, our hands to share, and may our feet tread lightlyon the road that, together, we travel.

Springtime!Your message of hope to a world tiring of winter’s starkness, longing for that first crocusto push through snow’s icy blanketand spread its leaves, like arms outstretched, to its creator.Springtime! Our yearly reminder, if we needed one, that to a world that was dark and cold,a world devoid of love’s sweet warmth, you sent your Son to break through sin’s icy blanket, and, arms outstretched

Tea Time At North Star ManorThe first annual Tea Party was given on February 13, 2019, at two in the afternoon. What started as just a story read by Kathy ( Activity Assistant) started the talk about how when our residents were young there were tea parties given by different people in Warren, MN and what they liked about them. It didn’t take long before the residents wanted to have a tea party of their own where they could make it like it used to be. They picked a date and what they wanted to have for lunch. It took several weeks to make the cookies, cupcakes, finger sandwiches, and find the punch recipe that they wanted. The day finally came, and the decorating started. The excitement grew with each passing hour. As the Ladies arrived spring hats were picked out for each lady and then they were shown to their tables. Darline Broten Marlys Kohlhase Emelia Novacek Shirley Peterson Janet Carlson Elsie Conley Mary Lindblad Gertrude Kuznia

Irene RudRita Pagnac and Eileen Engen had pictures taken, but they did not turn out. It was a day that everyone enjoyed, and the smiles and laughter was the part that made Kathy feel good. It was a lot of work, but it was worth it.

Adopt A Grandparent This is one of the favorite groups that we offer our residents. It has been a bad year for the respiratory flu, and the children at the elementary school were hit hard. We have not been able to have a group here at North Star Manor for six weeks to two months. We will implement this enjoyable time just as soon as the health department says we can start again.

St Patricks Day Bingo

Some of the prizes that were offered at Bingo

Family and friends of our residents were welcome to play and win prizes

Birthday Breakfast very popular at North Star Manor also the apartments and assisted living are also asked to come for this wonderful meal.

North Star Manor residents passed the winter months with good music, good food and lots of smiles and laughter. Even though it was pleasant, we have been looking forward to spring, and we have seen the first Robbin!
