Services for Lorraine Lynch will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019 at noon at The Runge Mortuary & Crematory. Visitation will be Friday from 10am until the service at noon. She will be laid to rest in Daven-port Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to King’s Harvest No Kill Shelter. Online condo-lences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

As we say goodbye to our dear friend and loyal Rotarian, we remember what a great supporter Lorraine was of Rotary. She sup-ported 2 children at the GMOC in Uganda, Enid and Silver. She was a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, a Benefactor and a member of the Rotary Bequest Society. She also funded two non-traditional scholarships at Eastern Iowa Community College in memory of her husband Gary and through North Scott Rotary. Gary was a past Presi-dent of our club. Her funeral service is at noon on Friday at Runge Mortuary, with visitation at 10 am to noon. Peace be with you.

Sara Diericx has been approved for membership by the Board of Directors and classification committee. She is the marketing manager for Mid America Basement Systems and has a lot of additional talents. She is a photographer, graphic designer, artist and designs drink cups, with her business called Twinkle Drink. Sara resides in Park View with her husband, Dylan, own-er of Diericx Trucking. She was introduced to Rotary by Brian Williams.

Lucas Dengler has also been approved for membership. He is a Financial Advisor for Modern Woodman of America and is familiar with Rotary, as his mother, Annette Horvath, was presi-dent of Davenport Rotary last year. Lucas resides in Davenport and has done a lot of volunteer work in the community. His sponsor is Josie Seymour.

Rick Engler is a Project Superintendent for Bush Construction and a retired Plumber with Union Local 25. He resides in El-dridge with his wife Pennie. He has 3 adult children and was proposed for membership by Tom Messer. Rick is looking for-ward to helping the community by volunteering through Rotary.

Sixty-two attended on Friday, including guests Linda Paustian and Harrison Collins, grandson of Jim Koehler. Also, prospective members Sara Diericx and Lucas Dengler. John Maxwell thanked the 10 Apple Pie Bakers and Linda for organizing the Apple Pie Contest. Marcia Brandt was the win-ner of the contest. Josie was the sergeant and collected $71 in fines. Marty O’Boyle gave $50 to the Education Fund in honor of his 50th wedding anniversary. Others announcing November wedding anniversaries were: Dick Cole, 65 years, Steve Powell, 52 years and Bill Tubbs, 49 years. Congrats to all!! Gwen Tombergs, president of the Quad City Storm is excited for the current Hockey season. She has several veteran players, returning from last year. Last year they gave $170,000 back to the community. They have multiple jersey auctions throughout the season, which are extremely successful. Rotary Night at the Storm game will be Saturday, February 1, 2020. The jerseys that night will feature the fight against cancer. Gwen encourages that everyone attends one game, be a part of the fun season. Patrick Olsen is excited to announce that 470 tickets have been purchased for the auction. The doors will open at 5:30 pm, with dinner served at about 7 pm. He passed out the instructions on the Qtego purchasing program. If you don’t want to use the service, a Qtego rep will help you bid. All pur-chases go thru Qtego, except for the 50/50 cash game and the heads/tails competition.
