Peter was the lead designer at the previous North East Times before leaving the title three years ago to become a senior designer and then creative manager at two prominent marketing companies. He brings this vast experience in print and digital design with him as the creative mind behind the all-new North East Times’ print and digital platforms.

Alison is an NCTJ-qualified journalist with more than 10 years’ experience. She has written extensively for a range of digital and print titles, and has managed the delivery of multiple magazines as editor. She is adept at creating engaging copy that informs and entertains its target audience.

Martin Stout - advertising director

Martin helped shape the former North East Times for more thana decade as a sales manager and commercial director and now has the opportunity to realise the full extent of his vision for the title as advertising director. He helped re brand lawfirm Watson Burton and wealthmanager Brewin Dolphin.

Christopher Owens - Head of photography

Chris is a highly experienced editorial and commercialphotographer who has been commissioned by The Guardian,Little White Lies Magazine, The National Portrait Gallery, BTBroadband, EMI and Virgin Records. He provides thelead photography for the all-new North East Times, in addition torunning his own successful freelance photography business.

Chris trained as a journalist with Thomson Newspapers in Newcastle. He edited Newcastle Life for 10 years, the forerunner of North East Times. He has completed journalist missions ‘as far west as Bermuda and east as far as Hong Kong’. He is a specialist property writer having worked as freelance for many national publications including Estates Times, Estates Gazette, Chartered Surveyor Weekly, Property Week and Retail Week.

February - Skills

Building skills is a key concern for North East business – particularlyin the STEM sectors. In this issue, we will be looking at the ways different companies, private andpublic organisations, education and training institutions and Government are looking to close the skills gap – and the impact on the North East economy if we don’t.

March - Professionalservices/Property/Youngprofessional services

This issue will be looking to profile the strengths of the professional services (particularly law andfinance) sector in the region. We will be speaking to some of the key personnel and brands operating inthe region and the impact North East-based professional services firms are making regionally, nationally and internationally.

April - The Tech Issue

The Tech Issue will return in April to showcase the burgeoning tech industry in our region, from startupsto SMEs and larger companies.

May - Culture

In the Culture Issue we will be looking at how local arts and cultural establishments have had to become more sustainable and commercially driven in recent years due, as their public funding budgets are slashed.

June - Leadership

The Leadership Issue will look at what makes a good leader in business? What qualities ensure success in the business world andcan these be taught? We will also be looking to profile some of the mostprominent business people in the North East and document how and why they have reached the top intheir field?

July/August - Money

The Money Issue returns in the summer and will again look at how to make, grow and share money. We will be looking to companies andorganisations who can help with growth, professional services firms who can help protect and grow wealth and successful entrepreneurs who have chosen to share theirwealth for the benefit of others.

September - The Business of Sport

In this issue, we will be focusing on the business of sport. What makes asuccessful sports club and does that always go hand-in-hand with commercial success?We will also be looking at the impact our major sports clubs have on sectors in the region and determine how the major sports stadiums engage with local businesses and the community. In addition, we will be looking at how companies and organisations embrace sport for the social and health benefits for their staff

October - The Women’s Issue

The annual Women’s Issue returns this autumn. As well as highlighting some of the issues effecting women in the workplace, we will be telling the stories of some of the most successful, promising and inspiring females working in the region

November - Building the future

The November issue will focus on the building and construction sector. Wewill be looking at the industry’s key players – from the largest propertydevelopers to the niche and innovative, as well as the key projects happening inthe region. In addition, we will be looking at newtechnology in the sector and how the industry is recovering after the globalrecession.

December - Review of 2017

North East Times will mark the end of 2017 by showcasing the Tyneside,Wearside and Teesside-based companies and organisations that haveachieved great things in the past year.We will also reflect on the main events of the year and look forward to 2018.
