3. Brief history and Backgroound:
It is under the overall control of Delhi Municipality opened by her Excellency the
Marchioness of Linlithgrow on 13th
March 1939.
Late Sh. RAM DONATED Rs. 1,20,000/- towards the construction of this
maternity hospital which has been named in the memory of his mother.
Even President of Pakistan Mr. Parvez Mussharraf was born here.
Now Managed by Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

5. Allocation of business:
a. Services are being rendered under the overall supervision of Medical Supdt. Who in
turn in helped be various incharges looking after different departments.
b. Health care facilities are being provided by doctors, nurses, para-medical staff and other
group-D staff. Ancillary services have been privatized.
c. Maintenance of building in under PWD.
d. Day to day office is being performed by ministerial staff.
6. Duties to be performed to achieve the mission: Various types of duties have been
allocated to different categories of staff posted as per details below:-
a. Overall supervision at the level of Medical Superintendent.
b. Clinical care by nursing staff.
c. Diagnostic and supportive services by Para-medical staff.
d. Group-D staff helps in rending various types of services.
f. Ancillary services by private agencies who are being awarded contracts through open
tenders.

Mrs. G.L.Mty.Hospital has adopted a Citizen Charter.
This charter seeks to provide a framework which enables our users to know:

General Information: Location: Adjacent to Ajmeri Gate side New Delhi Railway Station. Telephone Exchange: Phone Nos: 23232224 MS Room 23232008 CMO 23236895 Exchange 23231840 Exchange 23233959 Exchange 23238685 Exchange 23231649 Exchange Staff Service Telephone Operators-2 Standards of Services: This is a maternity hospital. It provides antenatal & maternity care to all the patients attending the hospital. All our patients receive courteous and prompt attention. This hospital has:

Casuality & Emergency Services Casuality Timings 24 Hrs. There is one Senior Resident/Medical Officer present. One Contract Specialist/ Medical officer is on emergency duty from 4pm to 9am and one medical officer/ Contract Specialist is on call duty. The decision to call duty doctors lie with the S R doctor. Very serious patients are referred in ambulance as there in no ICU facility. However First Aid is given all patients.
OPD Location All the OPDs are in the Multistorey building. OPD Timing 9AM to 1 PM on all working days except Sunday & Holidays. Registration Timing 9AM to 12:30PM Monday to Friday. 9AM to 12:00PM Saturday All registered patients are issued an OPD card. Card Changes are RS/5Per month and card validity is for one month. Indoor Treatment For all obstetrics & gynae patients and 10 NICU beds. Diet Charges Rs 10 per day. Lab Service Location 4th floor of Multistorey building. Timing 9AM to 8PM on all days. Pathology Staff Specialist 1 Senior Residents 2 Technician 1 Lab Assistants 8 All routine investigations hemoglobin, Biochemistry, blood sugar (fasting and P.P.), KFT,LFT, ABO & RH Typing Cholesterol, P/S are done. Serology HBsAg, VDRL WIDAL, URINE Routine, Microscopic Histopathology Biopsy reporting Cytology (Peps Smear, FNAC). Charges NIL Blood Bank There is no Blood Bank in Mrs. G.L.Mty.Hospital. The regional blood bank linkage is with L.N.J.P. Hospital. For elective surgery and LCSC, relatives of patients are motivated to donate blood and blood is booked against donation HIV testing & counseling Location 1st floor of Multistorey building. Timings 9AM to 4PM
Dept of Radiology Services X-Ray Ultrasound Location: Xray - Behind the Security Guard Room. USG Room at Ground Floor of Multistorey Building. Timings: 9AM to 4PM from Monday to Friday 9AM to 1PM on Saturday. Staff Regular Specialist 1 X- ray Technicial 1 Charges Nil OBst & Gynae, Family Planning OPD: Location 1st floor of Multistorey Building. OPD Timings: 9AM to 1PM Monday to Friday 9AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday. All registered patients are seen in OPD. Indoors Facilities offered- From OPD and Casuality patients are admitted in labour Room, Ward-I, Ward-II. There is only General Ward No Private Wards available. Dept. of OBst & Gynae Beds 97 Staff Regular Specialist 1 Medical Officers 9 Senior Residents 7 Contract Specialist 3 Casuality funtions 24*7 Labour Room: All patients in Labour Room are admitted in Labour Room. One staff nurse and one doctor always available in Labour Room 24*7 hours.
Ward-I: All Post Natal(PNC) patients and abortion cases are admitted/ shifted to ward-1. One staff nurse available 24*7 hours. Doctor is called as required. Ward-II All post operation patients-LCSC, hysterectomy, MTP, Lap sterilization and tubectomy and Antenatal high risk patient are admitted. Visiting Hours Summers 5PM-7PM Winter 4PM-6PM Operation Theatre & Anesthesia Dept Location 3rd Floor of Multistorey Building. Staff Regular Specialist 1 Medical Officers 3 Senior Resident 2 Technicians 3 O.T. Asst. & Sterilization Asst. 6 Doctors & Technical staff present round the clock for providing anesthesia services. Pediatrics Department OPD Location 2nd Floor of Multistorey Building OPD Timings: 9AM to 1 PM Monday to Friday 9AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday Staff Regular Specialist 1 GDMO 1 Senior Residents 3 NICU Charges Nil Diet charges Rs-10/day
Skin Dept OPD Location 1st floor of Multistorey Building OPD Timings 9AM to 1PM Monday to Friday. 9Am to 12:30PM on Saturday. Staff 1 medical officer Medical OPD Location 4th floor of Multistorey Building Staff Contracts Specialist 1 Senior Resident 1 OPD Timing 9AM to 1PM Monday to Friday 9AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday. Services provided- For various medical problems like diabetes, mellitus, hypertension, thyroid, COPD Services from 9AM to 4PM for needful patients. Indoor Services -NIL Referral Services Ambulance services for specialty /super specialty problems to tertiary /academic is provided. Apart from the above G.L.M. Hospital, also has functioning DOTS Centre, Homeopathic Clinic and Unani Clinic.

Office, O.P.D. and Laboratory closed on Sunday and Gazetted Holidays
12. Public interaction, if any: Health education regarding prevention of certain diseases is
being imparted to the public along with primitive aspects through posters & wall paintings. 13. Grievance redresses mechanism : Public Grievances Cell for prompt solution of public
complains has been established under a senior doctor. The complains are attended to as per
details below:-
a. OPD- at the level of HOD of clinical deptt. And OPD incharge.
b. Indoor-at the lavel of clinical deptt. And indoor incharge.
c. Casualty-at the level of Casuality incharge
d. If still there are problems- Nodal Officers can be contacted.
e. Medical Superintendent can be contacted if problem are not solves as
explained above.
