The overall objective

• support, coordination and promotion of the efficiency of scientific, educational, non-governmental, youth, political and commercial organizations and bodies in their activities dealing with topical problems of the North, the Arctic and border regions

Mission

• to generate conditions for expansion of intersectoral (first of all international) cooperation to promote sustainable development of northern regions

• to act as a mediator and a platform for interactions and cooperation of stakeholders representing similar or different areas of public life

• research into problems related to climate change, and forecasting of its mid- and long-term changes under growing human impact

• study of the problems of socio-economic development of northern regions, health problems, organization of health care, and living standards
