NORMET CORPORATION

Normet engineers and manufactures mechanized equipment forunderground applications such as: man lifting, installation, roofsupport, concrete spraying and charging of explosives. They arebased on Normet’s more than 40 years’ accumulated experienceand close partnership with mining customers i.e. Pyhäsalmi Mine.

The Pyhäsalmi mine, located in the central Finland, is the oldestoperational base metal mine in Finland. It is run by PyhäsalmiMine Ltd (owned by Inmet Mining Corporation, Canada), and itproduces zinc, copper and pyrites. The new mine extends down to1440 m, being the deepest metal mine in Europe. The mining oper-ation in the new mine, after the excavation, was started in 2001.

The Pyhäsalmi mine is one of the users of Normet Charmec explo-sive chargers, designed to comply with emulsion chargingrequirments.

Charmec 9825 BE emulsion explosives charger

Normet Charmec 9825 BE concept has developed in cooperationwith customers and explosive system suppliers for automatedcharging of modern emulsion explosives.

The concept is suitable for both short and long hole charging. It isfully programmable, but several preprogrammed features are builtin to ease the operator’s work.

Charmec 9825BE consists of aNormet NC 98mining carrier,emulsion mod-ule and boomlifter with 500kg lifting loadand max. 5,80m platformheight forreaching to 8 m high roofs. The emulsion module is comprised ofemulsion pumping and sensitizing systems. Safety systems, storagefacilities for emulsion components and water. Automatic charginghose feeder and hose, as well as an automated CAN-Bus controlsystem. Depending on the charging hose diameter and pumpinglength, the concept provides a charging capacity of up to 80kg/min.
