GRADING, DRAINAGE, AND UTILITY PLAN NOTES:
1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORIDINATE/VERIFY THE EXACT SIZES, LOCATIONS, ELEVATIONS, OF ALL PROPOSED BUILDING
UTILITY SERVICES WITH THE PROJECT MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING DRAWINGS PRIOR TO ANY CONSTRUCTION
OPERATIONS.
2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE HIS WORK WITH THE WORK DONE BY THE RESPECTIVE UTILITY COMPANIES.
3. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE EXACT LOCATIONS, SIZES, AND ELEVATIONS OF PROPOSED BUILDING UTILITY SERVICES
WITH THE PROJECT ARCHITECTURAL AND MEP PLANS.
4. THE MANHOLE FRAME AND COVER SHALL BE CENTERED ON THE PRECAST OPENING. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL AN
OFFSET FRAME AND COVER BE ACCEPTABLE. PRIOR TO FINAL PAVING, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CHECK ALL MANHOLE
STRUCTURES TO ASSURE THE FRAME AND COVER IS CENTERED ON THE PRECAST OPENING. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE
RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL WORK REQUIRED TO CENTER FRAME AND COVER.
5. INSTALL "FERNCO" STYLE FLEXIBLE COUPLINGS AT ALL LOCATIONS WHERE JOINING PIPES OF DIFFERENT MATERIALS AND/OR
SIZES PER MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATIONS.
6. ALL PIPES AND FITTINGS SPECIFIED AS HDPE SHALL BE ADS N-12 WT (WATERTIGHT) PIPE AS MANUFACTURED BY ADVANCED
DRAINAGE SYSTEMS, HILLIARD, OHIO.
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN EXISTING STORM SEWER FLOWS BY PUMPING OR OTHER MEANS APPROVED BY THE
OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE DURING CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROPOSED STORM SEWER IN LOCATIONS WHERE STORM SEWER

OF THE PERMANENT CONTROL STRUCTURES ARE SHOWN ON THE DRAINAGE PLANS.
21. ALL SEDIMENTATION AND EROSION CONTROLS SHALL BE CHECKED WEEKLY AND/OR AFTER EACH RAIN FALL EVENT. NECESSARY REPAIRS SHALL BE
MADE WITHOUT DELAY.
22. PRIOR TO ANY FORECASTED RAINFALL, EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROLS SHALL BE INSPECTED AND REPAIRED AS NECESSARY.

EROSION CONTROL NARRATIVE:
THE STORMWATER MANAGEMENT MEASURES WILL ADDRESS THE STORMWATER QUALITY ONCE THE SITE HAS BEEN CONSTRUCTED AND STABILIZED.
SEDIMENTATION AND EROSION CONTROL MEASURES WILL BE INSTALLED DURING CONSTRUCTION WHICH WILL MINIMIZE ADVERSE IMPACTS FROM
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES.
ALL SEDIMENTATION AND EROSION CONTROL MEASURES PROPOSED FOR THIS DEVELOPMENT HAVE BEEN DESIGNED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE "2002

EROSION CONTROL NARRATIVE REFERS TO DRAWINGS C4.01 TO C4.03.
THE PROPOSED SITE DEVELOPMENT WILL CONSIST OF RENOVATION OF THE EXISTING OFFICE/MANUFACTURING BUILDING, AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF A
LOADING DOCK. THE PROJECT ALSO INCLUDES THE RECONFIGURATION AND CONSOLODATION OF THE TWO SOUTHERLY DRIVEWAYS, MODIFIED PARKING
AREAS, INSTALLATION OF SIDEWALKS, CURBING, STORMWATER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, UTILITIES, LANDSCAPING, AND LIGHTING.
THE DEVELOPMENT IS LOCATED AT 10 NORDEN PLACE IN NORWALK, CONNECTICUT.
CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE:
1. FLAG THE LIMITS OF CONSTRUCTION, RIGHT-OF-WAY, AND TREE PROTECTION ZONES.
2. HOLD PRECONSTRUCTION MEETING. REMEMBER TO CALL BEFORE YOU DIG 1-800-922-4455.
3. INSTALL THE CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE.
4. INSTALL PERIMETER EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROLS AND INLET PROTECTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SEDIMENTATION AND EROSION CONTROL
PLAN.
5. SAWCUT AND REMOVE EXISTING PAVEMENT AND BASE AS IDENTIFIED ON THE PLANS IN THE LOADING DOCK AREA. DECOMMISSION THE TWO DRIVEWAY
ENTRANCES ALONG THE AVALON DRIVEWAY AND COMPLETE ALL SURFACE TREATMENTS ALONG THE AVALON DRIVEWAY AND SIDEWALK.
6. INSTALL UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS AND SERVICE FEEDS TO BUILDING.
7. BEGIN LOADING DOCK CONSTRUCTION.
8. SAWCUT, DEMOLISH, AND REMOVE ALL PAVEMENT AND CURBING ALONG THE EASTERN PORTION OF THE DRIVEWAY ALONG THE EXISTING PARKING
AREA.
9. INSTALL ALL CURBING AND PREPARE SUBBASE FOR PAVEMENT ALONG THE EASTERN PORTION OF THE DRIVEWAY ALONG THE EXISTING PARKING AREA.
10. WHEN CONSTRUCTION ON THE LOADING DOCK IS SUBSTANTIALLY COMPLETE, INSTALL ALL DRAINAGE STRUCTURES, PIPING, AND THE UNDERGROUND
INFILTRATION SYSTEM BEGINNING DOWNSTREAM, AND WORKING UPSTREAM.
11. ROUGH GRADE THE PROPOSED PAVEMENT AREA AROUND THE LOADING DOCK AREA AND INSTALL ALL CURBING.
12. INSTALL PROCESS AGGREGATE IN ALL PAVED AREAS.
13. PLACE TOPSOIL WHERE REQUIRED. COMPLETE THE PERIMETER LANDSCAPE PLANTINGS.
14. FINE GRADE, RAKE, SEED AND MULCH TO WITHIN 2 FEET OF THE CURBING.
15. UPON SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION OF THE SITE IMPROVEMENTS COMPLETE THE BALANCE OF THE SITE WORK AND STABILIZATION OF ALL OTHER
DISTURBED AREAS. INSTALL FIRST COURSE OF PAVING.
16. WHEN ALL OTHER WORK HAS BEEN COMPLETED, REPAIR AND SWEEP ALL PAVED AREAS FOR THE FINAL COURSE OF PAVEMENT. INSPECT THE EROSION
CONTROLS AND CLEAN AS NEEDED.
17. INSTALL FINAL COURSE OF PAVEMENT.
