1) User-replaceable printheadsLessinterventionforchangingprintheadsavoidsdelaysandimprovesyourturnaroundtime.HPprint-ingsystemsusingOriginalHPprintheadsandwater-basedHPLatexInksdonotrequiredailymanualmaintenanceofprintheadsastheprinteremploysfully-automaticprintheadtestingandmaintenancesystems.Individualprintheadsareuserreplaceable,eliminatingthedown-timeandexpenseofaservicecall.Together,HPprintheadsandHPLatexInksenablelow-maintenance,productiveprinting.

4) Optical Media Advance Sensor and Optical Drop DetectorAutomaticallyachievehighimagequalityandconsistencywiththeHPOpticalMediaAdvanceSen-sor(OMAS)andtheOpticalDropDetector(ODD).OMAScontrolsthemediaasitadvancesthroughtheprinter,whichhelpsminimizebandingathighspeeds.ThedropejectionperformanceofeveryprintheadnozzleisperiodicallyandautomaticallytestedwiththeODD,providingprintsfreeofdefectsorerrorsthatcanresultininkandmediawaste.

5) HP Double Swath technologyPairsofstaggeredprintheadsinthecarriagedoubletheprintswathoftheHPDesignjetL25500PrinterseriesresultingintwicetheperformanceofearlierDesignjetmodels.Theprintswathsoverlapeachotherandthenozzlesprintinginthesamescanline(topandbottomprintheads)areusedtogethertoeliminateswath-to-swathbanding.

6) Embedded Web serverControlprintsettingsandmonitoryourprinter’suseofinkandmediaviatheembeddedWebserver—whichisalsoaccessiblethroughyourpreferredRIP.Thisinformationwillhelpyoubettermanageprintjobsandpreventunnecessaryinkandmediawaste.

Unlikeotherwater-basedinks,HPLatexInksarecuredintheprinterwithheatandforcedair.TheHPDesignjetL25500PrinterincludesindependentPrintZoneandCuringZoneheatingsystemstocureHPLatexInks.Thetemperaturesineachzonedependontheprintmodeandmediabeingused.

Figure1showsaschematicdrawing(nottoscale)ofaliquidfilmofHPLatexInkinthePrintZoneonthesurfaceofnonabsorbentmedia,suchasuncoatedvinyl.

InFigure2,radiantheatersandforcedairinthePrintZoneandCuringZoneevaporatetheinkvehicleandcurethelatexfilm.

InFigure3,acontinuouslatexfilmencapsulatingthepigmentshasformedonthevinylsurfaceastheprintleavestheCuringZone.

Theprintiscompletelydryandreadytouse,finish,andprepareforshipment.Sincecuringtakesplaceintheprinter,productionworkflowsareimprovedbecausenoexternaldryingprocessisrequiredandprintscanbelaminatedimmediately.
