®QTi Non Sparking Safety Tools are tools made from an innovative copper alloy which are

recommended for use where hazardous, flammable or combustible vapors, liquids, dusts or

residues are present.

Non-sparking tools provide protection against fires and explosions in environments where there is a

concern about sparks igniting flammable solvents, vapors, liquids, dusts or residues.

COPPER TITANIUM

GOOD STRENGTH

Copper Titanium tools have good

strength and durability of tools. Other

softer materials like Aluminium Bronze

used to make non-sparking tools break

quickly and can cause an injury to

operator or damage the equipment even

under normal use. All Copper Titanium

tools are torque tested.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY

Beryllium is one of the most dangerous

and toxic metal being disposed in the

environment. Disposal of used Copper

Beryllium tools is hazardous to the

environment. Copper Titanium being

100% free from Beryllium pose non-such

environmental risks.

BERYLLIUM FREE

Copper Titanium tools are made from

high quality Copper & Titanium and is

100% free from Beryllium.

Beryllium causes a disease known as

Chronic Beryllium Diseases (CBD), which

primarily effects the lungs and skin and

can be fatal in several cases.

Copper Titanium tools are completely

non-magnetic. It is a required when

working in environments with magnets,

electrical components, high energy

applications.

HIGH HARDNESS

Copper Titanium Non-Sparking Tools

have hardness ranging from 260 to 320

BHN.

Tools are tested and certified for Non-

Sparking Characteristics  as per

 IS:4595-1969 (2006) Standards.

NON-SPARKING

NOTE

Copper Titanium Tools should not be used in acetelyne environments. These tools have high copper content (>65%)

which when comes in direct contact with acetylene, can possibly lead to formation of explosive acetylide, especially in

the presence of moisture. These tools are not classified as anti-static because they do conduct electricity. The use of

Non-Sparking Tools must not be the only preventive measure in areas which the items are designed for. Other items,

clothes or present material must also be adequate for non-sparking purposes.

Non-Sparking Hand Tools should be used as per standard safe practices. Non-Sparking Hand Tools should not be

subjected to over-stressing by means of excessive force, hammering or use of external leverage. Failure to do so will

result in extra wear and damage and/or premature failure and unexpected breakage resulting in injury to the

operator.

COPPER BERYLLIUM (Cu-Be)

n Copper Beryllium is highly hazardous

because of its beryllium content.

n Its causes Chronic Beryllium Disease

exposed to the dust or fumes from

beryllium metal, metal oxides, alloys,

ceramics or salts.

n CBD usually has a very slow onset,

and even very small amounts of

exposure to beryllium can cause the

n Some latest research suggests that

skin can be a route of exposure and

sensitization in chronic beryllium

disease.

n Corroded Copper Beryllium could be

as much as 135 times more toxic and

harmful than Non-Corroded Copper

Beryllium.

n High Cost of compliance to safety

standards.

n OSHA is fur ther lower ing the

acceptable standards for Permissible

exposure to beryllium from 2µg/m3

to 0.2µg/m3 - Reduction by 90%

ALUMINIUM BRONZE (Al-Br)

n Aluminium- Bronze tools are poor

alternative to Copper Beryllium tools.

n Aluminium Bronze is a soft material

and therefore have very poor

strength, it breaks under normal

working conditions.

n Breakage of tool while working and

can cause injury to operator.

n It contains about 5% Iron (Fe) and

t h e re f o re c a n n o t b e u s e d i n

application where non-magnetisim is

important.
