Why a Non-linear Course? Dr. Ted Wertheimer Dr. Ted Wertheimer has been focused on Non-linear Finite Element technologies for four decades, in the fields of material nonlinearities, manufacturing, thermal sciences and software architectures. He is one of the core inventors and was the chief developer of MSC's Marc finite element program. He holds a BS degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from the University of Illinois, and MS and PhD degrees in Applied Mechanics from Stanford University. His development contributions have included contact analysis, material modeling and multiphysics. He has taught numerous classes on both practical and theoretical methods to creatively apply nonlinear technologies to solve complex simulation problems, and has provided endless hours of guidance to colleagues, end-users, researchers and educators in its applicaions. A Journey into the Non-linear world 3 days of theory and applications August 26-28, 2015. Chennai, India. Basic to Advanced Nature is nonlinear. Although, for our own understanding, we often look to simplify the world around us, ultimately we need to come to terms with the fact that nature and hence engineering science is inherently nonlinear, either due to material or geometry effects or other multi-physics characteristics. With the increase of hardware capacity and software improvements in the last decade, the linearisation of real life engineering problems is no longer necessary, and more and more virtual simulations are being performed using nonlinear techniques. Automotive, aerospace, marine/ naval, defense, construction, biomedical and packaging are just some of the industries where nonlinear technique s are used at this moment.

  • Why a Non-linear Course?

Dr. Ted WertheimerDr. Ted Wertheimer has been focused on Non-linear Finite Element technologies for four

decades, in the fields of material nonlinearities, manufacturing, thermal sciences and

software architectures. He is one of the core inventors and was the chief developer of

MSC's Marc finite element program. He holds a BS degree in Theoretical and Applied

Mechanics from the University of Illinois, and MS and PhD degrees in Applied Mechanics

    from Stanford University.

His development contributions have included contact analysis, material modeling and

multiphysics. He has taught numerous classes on both practical and theoretical methods

to creatively apply nonlinear technologies to solve complex simulation problems, and has

provided endless hours of guidance to colleagues, end-users, researchers and educators

    in its applicaions.

    A Journey into

    the Non-linear world

3 days of theory and applications

    August 26-28, 2015. Chennai, India.

    Basic to Advanced

Nature is nonlinear. Although, for our own understanding, we often look to simplify the world

around us, ultimately we need to come to terms with the fact that nature and hence engineering

science is inherently nonlinear, either due to material or geometry effects or other multi-physics

    characteristics.

With the increase of hardware capacity and software improvements in the last decade, the

linearisation of real life engineering problems is no longer necessary, and more and more virtual

simulations are being performed using nonlinear techniques. Automotive, aerospace, marine/

naval, defense, construction, biomedical and packaging are just some of the industries where

nonlinear techniques are used at this moment.
