Mike
I t has become apparent to me that
i t s
not
very
hard to f i l l our
daily schedules with plenty of act ivi t ies , I also realize that
many times, we have allowed
activities
to be and end in themselves.
In
other
words,
being content in
the fact that
we are
busy and havea
full
schedule.
Many
times,
we
fai l
to
see
how different
activities
r e l a t e to one ano ther in our l i v e s . I t h ink t h a t before a
master
craftsman
weaves a rug, he
gives thought to
a pattern. Then he
begins
weaving different colored
threads
to make
the
pattern
in
his mind.
He doesn t just weave
threads haphazardly,
but chooses and
rejects
threads depending on the
pattern
in his mind. The apostle Paul
uses
t h i s example in ICor. 9: 2^-27.
Paul
speaks here
that we
should
have a purpose in l i f e .
Our
a c t i v i t i e s s h ou l d n t
be
wi t h ou t a im .
We
need to be
l i k e
r unne r s ,
who while training, keeps the
goal
in focus. In chapter 10, Paul
gives us tha t goal ,
So
whether you eat or
drink
or whatever you
do, do
i t a l l
to
the
glory
of God, I Cor.
1-:31.
I
think
we
could
a l l learn to be more effect ive in l iving our l ives fo r God s glory.
Instead of jus t
le t t ing
things happen by chance, we
ought
to have a
plan or
a theme for our
l i f e .
With a plan se t
in
our minds on how
we will glorify God, we can pick
and reject
activit ies with regards
to how they
wil l
weave together
in
our lives to achieve
that
goal.
With a plan, our lives would be better organized so that we
could

achieve our
