Desert Knowledge was the destination for a group of Year 5 and 6
students who participated in a workshop to build and enrich their
understanding of the scientific projects undertaken at the precinct.
The students were buzzing with new information about solar
energy and solar generation. Using solar powered bugs, the
students explored what enhances the effectiveness of solar panels.
We love a Dress Up Day at Bradshaw and Friday is the day to wear
your finest. The SRC decided on the theme “Sunday Best”. I expect
we’ll see sleek or fancy hairdos, polished shoes, sharp suits, jewels,
headwear and everything else that glitters and shines for a fun last
day of school.
Bradshaw’s ANZAC Day Commemoration will be held in front of the
flagpole on Tuesday 24th April from 10-10.30am. Classes will pause
to reflect on the importance of ANZAC traditions and lay a wreath
in remembrance. Representatives of Norforce have been invited to
join our commemoration. The community is welcome to join us
also.
Visitors are asked to enter the carpark correctly. Please ensure cars
follows the road marking arrows and not to enter in the car park
exit area. This is causing near accidents as cars unexpectedly
appear in the wrong direction. Your cooperation is appreciated as a
safe, predictable carpark is essential.
Some changes have been made this week to staffing arrangements
and these will come into place starting Term 2. Mr Williams from
4W will move across to work with Miss Royes supporting students
across the school through small group and individual work. Mr
Owen Beavan (from 5/6SB) will take on the Year 4 class and Ms
Julia Smith will increase her days in the 5/6 class. Both Mr
Rowlands our Assistant Principal and Miss Scarfe, one of our Senior
Teachers will support these two classrooms.

Dear Families,
There is a buzz of excitement around the school as students and
staff anticipate a week of rest and relaxation. It has been an 11
week term and don’t we all feel that extra week?! Wow!
Students at Bradshaw strive to understand the Bradshaw Learner
Qualities in every opportunity. This week we heard from
motivational speaker Lorin Nicholson. Lorin is blind and shared
with the audience of students from Years 3 – 6 stories of his
childhood and how others impacted his life. Students walked
away inspired about the ways that they could make a difference.
Some of the takeaways from our students included:
“Try your best, don’t give up!” - “He was amazing, inspiring and I
am proud of the role model that I am.” - “Anything is possible if
you put your mind to it.” - “Kindness.” - “Make people smile.”
“Set goals for myself.” - “Help other people by asking if they have
someone to play with.”
These are timeless messages that we can all use in life, whether
young or old. Ask your child about what they took away from
Lorin’s presentation.
Our goal at Bradshaw is to increase student attendance. In Term 1
our overall attendance was 91%. The highest attenders with 94%
was Year 3 Fahey. If you are taking a family holiday during school
time please notify the principal of your arrangements.
Last week 1HP visited Sadadeen Primary School to build new
friendships and challenge themselves on the adventure
playground. The students explored the environment finding
equipment to spin, swing, glide, jump and climb on. The students
wrote amazing recounts of the excursion using powerful words
like rescue, adventure and spectacular to describe their
experiences.

Year 3 students have been learning the finer art of writing a persuasive text. There are examples of amazing work on display in the front foyer and the library. If you don’t already know why Bradshaw is the BEST school, take a look at Iris’ text. This was chosen by the students in 3F as the most convincing. Enjoy!
Bradshaw Is The BEST School
It is clear that Bradshaw is the absolute best school and l strongly believe that everyone should go to Bradshaw School because, l mean
who wouldn’t want to go to the funest school in the world?
My first reason is that Bradshaw School has after school activities like Fad. Just imagine yourself moving to a wonderful bear or dancing
around with pom-poms in your hands. Yep, that’s right, we’ve got it all from weekly activities to special events like sports day. I know,
cool.
Secondly, we’ve got the best teachers in the world and smart teachers equal clever kids. The kids at Bradshaw are also really nice, help-
ful and inclusive so when you don’t have any friends in play, just ask someone.

Here are some photos of students from 3DW and 3F who took it upon themselves to collect rubbish to clean up our patio and the school yard. Jess and I thought that it would be nice to celebrate this in the newsletter.
