GSAC Fun Day As we have done over the last couple of years, all students and staff will be going to the Aquatic Centre on Monday 12th December for our end-of-year reward and fun day. Parents are invited to come along. We will be leaving school at 11:00 a.m. Please make sure the permission slip (sent home on Tuesday) and money has been returned to school by Monday morning. We would not like it if a child missed out because they did not have a permission slip. All students will need to bring their recess with them. We will be returning to school in time for buses. Year 6 Farewell Assembly Our annual Year 6 Assembly and Farewell speeches will be held next Thursday 15th December from 11:30 a.m. You are most welcome to attend. This is the final primary school day for our Year 6 students. All students are asked to bring a plate of party food to share on Thursday 15th. Christmas Tree Night Our Christmas Tree night will be held next Thursday 15th December commencing with a Sausage Sizzle from 5:30 p.m. Formal proceedings will commence at 6p.m. All staff will be in attendance, but are not on duty. Parents/Carers are responsible for their children. This is an out of school hour’s community event. The rules for students which apply through the school day, as far as games go etc. still apply so students will not be able to play tackle footy or contact games of any sort. The playground area will need to be supervised by parents/carers if their children are playing there. Santa will hopefully be arriving around 7 p.m. Thank you all for a wonderful 2016. It has been a pleasure sharing in the lives of your children. I hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday and we look forward to seeing everyone again in 2017. Teachers return Friday 27th January 2017 Students in Years 1-6 return Monday 30th January 2017 Kindergarten commence Wednesday 1st February 2017 Closing Thought "Don't make assumptions. Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life." -- Don Miguel Ruiz

Jodie's Inspiration, a local cancer charity, will be hosting Christmas Carols at Caniaba [Adam Gilchrist Oval] on Sunday 18 December 2016. It would be appreciated if you could please advertise this information in your newsletters so that as many young children are able to attend as possible.

The event will begin from 4pm and conclude at 9pm, and we are hoping to have lots of things for

kids to do, including a visit from Santa, face painting, jumping castles and a fireworks display to end the night. Entry is by donation with all money raised going towards our local oncology units. Strictly

no glass is to be brought onto the oval.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Caniaba Public has received an invitation to perform at Caniaba Christmas Carols to be

held at Perradenya Estate on Sunday 18th

December 2016. The event will be a chance for

families to sing along to Christmas carols and also to support a worthwhile local charity

in Jodie’s Inspiration. http://www.jodiesinspiration.com.au/

Knowing how many students we can expect to attend will help us to organise a suitable

performance for the evening so we ask that you please indicate below if your children

will be attending and return as soon as possible.

Christmas Tree Night BBQ

Next Thursday, 15th

December is the Caniaba Public School annual Christmas Tree

night. To make life a little bit easier for families at this busy time of year the P&C will be

hosting a sausage sizzle for those families who don’t want to bring a picnic dinner.

We are asking families to give an indication of how many sausages their family will

need. Please note that this is not an order form – we just need an idea of how many

sausages to buy.

We will also be selling cans of soft drink and any excess stock from the canteen (chips,

ice blocks etc).

Costs are as follows:

Sausage sandwich $1.50

Cans of drink $1.00

Please return the form below to the office by Friday, 9th

December.

We look forward to seeing you there!
