The Board of Governors after due consideration and scrutiny of additiorra-l documents

submitted along widr review of assessment rePort and taking into consideration verbal explanation'

decided to reiterate their earlier decision and issue Conditional Letter of Permission for

Increase of seats in MD(General Medicine) course from 02(two) to Oa(four) seats as per available

facilities.

This Letter of Permission is subject to fulfillment of the following conditions:-

1. The applicant should provide all inJrastructural facilities in terms of teaching and non-

teaching staff, buildings, equipment and hospital facilities as pel Medical Council of India

nornrs. I am further diiectei to inform that you and your institution are fully responsible to

fulfill and maintain nornls including the infrastructure both physical and human lesource'

teaching faculty and clinical materiil, etc. throughout the academic year, as stipulated in

postgra-duate Regulation of Medical Council of India. In case false/wrong declaration or

fabricated docunients have been used for procuring permission of the Board of Governors for

the starting/increased intake and the said misconduct is brought to notice or comes to the

knowledge'of Medical Council of India at any stage during the current academic yearl your

institution is not liable to be considered for increaied intake for '.he next academic year and

this letter of permission for the increased intake/starting is also liable to be revoked for

current academic year. Besides, Medical Council of India is entitled to take all such measures

against you and your college/institution as permissible under the law'

2. Other deficiencies if any pointed out in the inspection report should be rectified. A copy of

MCI inspection report is enclosed.

3. No student should be admitted in the above courses till the formal permission of the Board of

Governors is granted.

4. The applicant should provide Bank Guarantee of required amount wherever required in

favoui of Secretary, Medical Council of India, New Delhi valid for three years from a

nationalized/scheduled Bank as per MCts norru against increased intake/starting of above

said course. However, Bank guarantee is not applicable for Govemment institution.

5. The colicge has to give an un-c{.ertakin-g that d.-e stuCents admitted to this course shall be paid

stipend o-tt pur with the stipend being paid to the Postgraduate students of State Government

Medical Institutes/Centrai Government Medical Institutions, in the State/Union Territory

where the institution is located as required under Clause 13.3 of the Postgraduate Medical

Education Regulations.

Postgraduate students admitted to this ceurse would be required to present one posterpresentation to read one paper at a national/state conference and to present one researchpaper which should be published/accepted for publication/sent for publication durit'rg theperiod of his Postgraduate studies so as to make him eligible to appear at the Postgraduatedegree examination as prescribed in the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations noti-fiedvide Gazette Notification dared 09 / 12 / 2009 (Clause 1 3.9).

As per Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations under Clause 14.(a)(a) it has beenprescribed that "Every candidate shall carry out work on an assigned research project underthe guidance of a recognized Post Graduate Teacher, the result of which shall be written upand submitted in the form of a Thesis. The thesis shall be examined by a minimum of threeexaminers; one intemal and two external exanriners, who shall not be the examiners forTheory and Clinical examination. A candidate shall be allowed to appear for the Theory andPractical/Clinical examination only after the acceptance of the Thesis by the examiners."

The Medical college while making admission to the course shall ensure that:-

i. No admission is permitted beyond the sanctioned intake capacity.ii. Selection of students to the Medical College is in accordance with the requirements

laid down in the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2000.iii. No adrrission is permitted beyond the cutoff date

It shall be incumberrt upon the Medical College that the inJormation relating to admissionshould be submifted within a fortnight of closure of admission to the Council. A.y failure to submitthe inJormation within this time limit would be construed that the admission in the College werenot in accordance with the statutory requirements, thereby enabling the Council to proceed inaccordance with law against the college.

You are requested to send compliance to above mentioned conditions including bank guaranteeas required under the Regulations of Medical Council of India within l5(Fifteeri) days of issue ofthis letter failing which the Letter of Permission issued for Increase of seats in the above course shallstand cancelled which shall result in forfeiture of right of the college/institution to admit thestudents in the above course.

The college authorities shall take up the matter for recognition of the quali-fication undersection 11(2) of the MC Act at the time of fust batch admitted against the course appeals for finalyear examination.
