1941 – Originally Lowry Auxiliary Field 1942 – Buckley Field; added 700 structures ($7.5M)

Army Air Corps Technical Training 1946 – Buckley Field assumed by CO Air National Guard 1947 – Renamed Naval Air Station, Denver

Modern History

1960 – Renamed Buckley ANGB; run by Colorado Air National Guard 2000 – Renamed Buckley AFB; run by 821st Space Group 2001 – 460th Air Base Wing activated as installation lead 2004 – 460th Space Wing activated as installation lead
