NO MANNA IN THE EXAMS
It is an indisputable fact that all people on our Pemba Island have responded positively in the
fight against ignorance. Due to the efforts of both our Government, most of the people now, have
created awareness, in recognizing the value of education, not only for individual development
but also for the development of our country.
Parents need campaign now for them to send their children to school or even to nursery
school. This awareness has led nearly all villages in this island to have a primary as well as school. This awareness has led nearly all villages in this island to have a primary as well as
secondary school. Children now walk countless steps to school. T he students who failed, or
score unsatisfactory results quickly in private classes and take private exams, expecting to have
good results in trying next time. Lots of people have graduated in this way.
I find one big problem in those students who study privately . Some of them have an inferiority
complex. They register themselves for exams and forget that they have done so. These
candidates never attend classes and make no effort in preparing themselves for exams. But they
expect to pass without pulling up their socks! Are they the people of Prophet Mussa who
provided Manna wasalwa in the desert, free, without working? For Prophet Mussa and his
people, the Manna was m iracle. Can it be likewise, in your examination room? Can you pass
without working hard? Can you harvest without digging? But these exams are well monitored
and well supervised. Many students fail every year.
My dear candidates, the time has come to change attitudes and remove misconception on doing
exams. Think, decide, keep determined and make preparation early, from the beginning of the
academic year. Lastly, forget at avoid forgery.
You can do better. Why not?
