Winter Break Assignment
Class: II (Session : 2019-20) Dear Rukminians
The school wishes you ‘Happy New Year 2020’.
Let’s make a resolution and try to be patient and responsible citizens of the nation by observing
January 1, 2020 as NO HONKING DAY. Discuss the following points with your parents and
elders and persuade them to follow the same.
1. Horn is meant for emergency only.
2. Blowing of horn near silence zones like schools, hospitals and places of worship is prohibited by law.
3. Please wait for the traffic signal to turn green.
4. Have patience during traffic jams.
5. Please convert “HORN PLEASE” into “NO HONKING”.
Tips for pollution free Delhi:
Cycle or walk to short distances.
Use public transport like buses or metro.
Motivate people for car pooling with friends.
Switch off car engine at red lights to save fuel.
Motivate people to use eco-friendly fuels.

*You should always read for about 20 minutes every day.
*Revise the basic Mathematical concepts and dodging tables regularly in practice notebook.

The Bear and the Two Travellers
Two men were travelling together, when a bear suddenly met them on
their path. One of them climbed up quickly on a tree and hid himself in the
branches. The other, seeing that he must be attacked, fell flat on the
ground. The bear came and felt him with his snout, and smelt him all over.
The man held his breath and pretended to be dead as much as he could. The
bear soon left him because bears do not touch a dead body. When the bear
was gone, the other traveller came down from the tree, and out of fun
inquired from his friend what it was the bear had whispered in his ear.
“He gave me an advice”, his friend replied.
“Never travel with a friend who leaves you in
times of danger”.
