Phase 1 Return It was great see our school filled with students again. I know staff were very excited about their return. Today was the first day of our Phase 1 return. I am unsure how long we will be operating in this phase but will keep you updated. Students will be able to return their library books on their allocated return to school day. With students increasingly returning to school for face-to-face learning now is a good time to talk to your children about travelling safely to and from school. The police Safe People, Safe Places advice (attached to the back of this newsletter) is a good starting point for discussions. A key to ensuring we have success in safeguarding our children is that we work together. If you are aware of an incident or see something then please do not hesitate to let the school know and importantly inform the Police. It doesn’t matter how little or insignificant it may seem. We congratulate a student who this week reported a concern that occurred on the way to school and commend the student for following the Safe People, Safe Places advice. The school reported her concerns to police. They are investigating and the school is supporting them. Please contact the school if you have any questions about sharing this advice with your children or if they raise any concerns.

Attendance Please remember to stay in regular contact with your classroom teachers. If we are unable to contact you and you have not collected a learning pack your child will be marked as absent. Learning Packs Learning packs are ready for pick up at the front office. I have included a Q and A document in the eldest child’s pack to answer a few questions we have had. Your child will have the same work provided for them when they attend school one day per week. Pick up and Drops Offs At this point we ask parents to stay in the car when dropping off and picking up children. You should only be coming into the school ground if you need to come into the office. If you are having difficulty getting your child to come into school please contact your classroom teachers or call the front office. Speak to your children about where they’re able to meet you in the afternoon. Teachers will be walking all classes out in the afternoon. School Photos School photos have been postponed for Term 2. I will inform you with an updated date when it is confirmed. Ruby Church RELIEVING PRINCIPAL

Year 6 T-shirts Orders – Due Friday 22 May

Order forms for the Year 6 t-shirts were mailed home to Year 6 families last Thursday. The shirts will cost $46.00 each and a deposit of $20.00 is required when placing an order. All orders including the $20.00 deposit must be received by Friday 22 May. No late orders can be accepted. The remaining money must be paid in full before the t-shirts can be taken home. Year 6 into Year 7 Expression of Interest Forms: Overdue

Students in Year 6 were given a ‘Year 6 moving into Year 7 in a NSW Government School’ booklet and ‘Expression of Interest’ application form last term. There are still a number of forms that have not been returned. It is essential that these forms are returned as soon as possible as the information provided is required to assist the high schools with planning for 2021. Family Information Sheets:

Family Information sheets are distributed at the start of each year to be completed and returned to school for the purpose of updating the school’s records so immediate contact can be made in the case of an emergency. The information provided by you ensures all other details and permission responses are also current. A Family Information sheet has been sent home to families who remain outstanding. If you receive a form, please complete both sides and return to school as soon as possible, along with any new or updated health care plans and court orders if applicable. Individual Health Care Plans:

We are currently reviewing Individual Health Care Plans for students with existing medical conditions requiring care at school. Plans that have been updated have been sent home to parents. Please check, sign and return the plan to school as soon as possible.
