1. Wet down bore with a wet patch…always work from breech to muzzle…protect crown of the muzzle
2. Brush gun and wipe off powder residue3. Brush bore 10 strokes with a wet brush4. Wipe bore with dry patches until they come
out clean5. Wipe gun clean and lightly lubricate6. Lightly oil bore (one patch, light oil)
Rifle CleaningProcedures
Reassemble and check function Are all parts correctly installed—nothing left over? Do all features work, especially safeties?
Store with springs relaxed (i.e. hammer down, trigger released, etc.)
Health and Hygiene Considerations
Avoid eating, drinking or smoking while shooting or cleaning firearms
After shooting and cleaning firearms wash hands and face before eating or drinking.
Change clothes and shower after a shooting session
